We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized **Accounting Clerk** to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and support the smooth operation of our accounting department.

**Responsibilities**
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices from vendors, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
- Accounts Receivable: Assist in preparing and sending invoices to clients, monitor accounts receivable aging, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets. Maintain organized records of financial transactions.
- Bank Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies.
- Subtrade Reconciliations: ensure that all subtrade invoices have been processed, including payments made.
- Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Assist with Month-end Close: Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
- General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the accounting department, including filing documents, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.

**Qualifications**
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree or diploma in accounting preferred.
- Prior experience in accounting or finance role preferred, especially in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

**Salary**: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
