Reporting to

various duties within Budget Services, including budget development,

monitoring, financial analysis and reporting. This position also provides

assistance and training to departments and schools and must support workflow

modernization within the department.

The successful applicants for these Educational Support Staff positions, Level G ($59,074 - $73,373), will be working 35 hours per week, 12 months per year, effective as soon as possible.

**Responsibilities**:
Maintain the general ledger code of accounts to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Education Uniform Code of Accounts and proper mapping for Ministry and internal board reporting purposes;
Review and approve journal entries and budget transfers prepared by Board staff and prepare documents for processing into the financial system while maintaining established deadlines;
Provide professional advice, training and support to budget stakeholders as it relates to procedures, processes, best practices and use of the financial system;
Conduct variance analysis on a regular basis to ensure mitigation of risks and to address budget monitoring and reporting challenges;
Assist with the preparation of the board’s annual operating budget and revised budget, including working papers and reporting;
Assist with the preparation of year-end analyses and schedules;
Provide support to the Budget Officers, including but not limited to operating and capital budgets;
Work collaboratively as a member of the Financial Services teams to meet departmental and organizational objectives;
Other duties as assigned;

**Qualifications**:
Undergraduate degree in a business related field (e.g. Accounting, Economics, Business Administration) is required;
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a role carrying out similar work;
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders;
Ability to work in a detail oriented work environment, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality on a broad range of personal and business information;
