**Position Purpose and Summary**

The Alumni and Community Engagement Officer advances the Mission and Vision of Trinity Western University by building mutually beneficial relationships of increasing value and purpose to advance deep and lasting commitment to the mission, vision, and calling of Trinity Western University.

As key ambassadors of TWU, University Advancement staff aspire to the highest standards of achievement, accountability, and excellence in communications, offering their various gifts and expertise to advance the reputation of TWU as Canada’s premier Christian Global Liberal Arts University.

University Advancement supports the ongoing transformation of the University by connecting individuals, foundations, and broader networks to God’s work of transformation in the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.

**Key Areas of Accountability**

1. In collaboration with Admissions, facilitate and manage opportunities to invite the alums and friends of the university to contribute to recruiting new students.
- _ Alumni Ambassadors_ - Recruit and manage a volunteer team who will assist admissions staff at recruitment events and be available to connect with prospective families about their program or major.
- _ Referral Strategy_ - Facilitate opportunities for alums and parents to refer students to Preview Day, Campus Visits, etc.

2. In collaboration with Development, facilitate and encourage opportunities to invite alums and parents to support Trinity Western University financially.
- _ New Donors_ - Through events and initiatives, facilitate meaningful opportunities to encourage prospective donors (alums and parents) to give their first gift to TWU.
- _ Current Donors_ - In consultation with Development, build relationships with current annual donors (alums and parents) to facilitate increased financial support.

3. In collaboration with the Centre for Calling and Career Development, manage a volunteer team of alumni who will be a career resource to current students and recent graduates.
- _Alumni Ambassadors _- Recruit and manage ambassadors to be an available regional resource to alums in their respective cities.
- _ Wayfinding _- Manage a list of alums willing to connect with students and recent graduates, open their career networks, and share about their industry or field of work.
- _ Employers _- Encourage alums and parent communities to offer students and recent graduates employment opportunities.

**4. **Community Engagement Events** **- Be present at alums and community engagement events to build relationships and connections. Strategically identify individuals who have the potential to get further involved.

**Standards and Requirements**

**Education**: Post-secondary degree required. Trinity Western University alumnus preferred.

**Experience**: 3+ years of directly related experience in recruitment, portfolio or relational management, sales, fundraising, or similar experience.
