**Description**

**Position description and associated responsibilities**:
Teaching will largely be comprised of hands-on instruction of undergraduate DVM students in the professional skills program, as well as the development and delivery of communication and professional identity formation content (knowledge, skills, and attributes) within the new program. Administrative duties will also be required to support relevant courses. The Associate Deans, Faculty Affairs & Development will assign teaching. Research will be overseen by the Associate Deans, Research. Service includes time to be on committees that help contribute to the university's functioning.

**Position requirements, qualifications, skills and achievements required for the appointment**:
Qualifications include doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DVM, MD, or DNP) or thesis-based masters (MA, MS, or MPH) in interpersonal or health communication, veterinary, medical, nursing education, learning and development, or related field. Work experience in higher education, professional development, or healthcare settings is preferred but not mandatory.

Appointment at the rank of **Assistant Professor**normally requires evidence or promise of original high-quality research and scholarship and future development as a scholar. Evidence or promise of the ability to obtain funding may also be required where appropriate. Evidence or promise of teaching proficiency or professional activity may also be required.
