**Position Overview**:
The HR Advisor is responsible for contributing to advising and coaching on human resources-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compliance.

With a focus on collaboration, the HR Advisor will foster relationships with various stakeholders across YORK1’s lines of business to drive an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that promotes empowerment, engagement, and innovation.

**Key Functions & Duties**:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- In collaboration with the HR team, assist in the development and execution of HR systems and programs.
- Foster a positive employee relations climate by assisting with the development and deployment of policies and programs to enhance the partnership between the company and the employees.
- Interpret and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, company policy and procedures, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Workers' Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely reporting.
- Leave management, maintaining accurate records and facilitating smooth return to work transitions for employees.
- Provide direction and support regarding performance management activities including coaching, counseling, corrective action, and training.
- Assist with Talent Management process for client group by implementing development plans and assisting with succession planning and compensation increases.
- Prepare and analyze required HR reports related to staffing, turnover, disability, and safety for client groups and develop action items to address gaps and issues.
- Collaboratively ensure compliance and adherence to company policies, standards & and procedures.
- Promote a positive and engaged employee culture.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation to ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with legal requirements

**Required Education, Experience & Abilities**:

- Relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar position or equivalent working experience.
- Practical view of HR as a business partner and support function.
- CHRP or CHRL Designation is an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of human resources best practices, policies, and procedures.
- Proven ability to champion positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, creating connections and fostering trust.
- Strong recruitment experience in an industrial environment.
- Team building, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
- A sense of urgency and ability to prioritize to meet company objectives.
- Demonstrated experience and comfort using various technology, including Microsoft Office, HRIS, applicant tracking software, and more.
- WSIB claim experience.
- Self-aware with an understanding of personal assumptions, biases, values, principles, strengths, and limitations; takes responsibility for personal actions and performance.
- High standards of ethics and ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity.

**Other Factors**:

- This is a hybrid role. This role operates from corporate office locations and remotely
- Travel to various YORK1 sites as required across the Golden Horseshoe area
