**What you will do**:
The Director, Clinical and Business Solutions will provide leadership and guidance in the effective delivery of Digital Solution services in alignment with the established mission, vision, values, and policies of The Ottawa Hospital (TOH).
As integral member of the team reporting to the EVP/CIO, the role will contribute to innovation through digital solutions in support of the TOH patients/families requirement for safe and high quality health services, clinician/scientists quest for outcomes from research and the aligned to the academic mission. Adopting generative AI and robotic process automation solutions will improve the value of health services and create national firsts from the nation's capital. The Director will have opportunities to coach and mentor a team to bring digital innovation to TOH and our regional partners.
This role is responsible for departmental oversight and regional engagement, leading a skilled team, and supporting senior management by providing strategic direction in the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex projects, operational requirements, regional solution planning while meeting operational objectives. This role provides operational and project support for all departmental and niche digital clinical systems, regional solutions, and corporate solutions (ERP, HCM).
The Director, acting as key liaison for internal/external stakeholders, will provide expertise and consultation to ensure engagement, compliance, and understanding of TOH's Digital Solutions strategic objectives and priorities while ensuring both internal and external partner Digital Solutions service needs are being met. This role will advise, lead and support solution and system changes to enable continuous improvement of operational business processes related to delivery of service, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Within their own team, the Director, Digital Clinical and Business Solutions ensures that safety, learning, and accountability systems are used and applied consistent with a just culture, and that their leaders are closing the loop on inspections, incidents, risk assessments and other staff and patient safety issues, to ensure continuous improvement.
**What you will bring**:
- Four (4) year undergraduate Degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, Project Management Administration or another relevant field;
- 10 or more years' experience in a comparable digital solutions environment;
- Five years of leadership experience;
- Five years of experience developing, preparing and managing Digital Solutions operational and capital budgets at the regional, organizational and project level;
- Five years of experience establishing and communicating direction to a team of digital solutions professionals providing support services to the organization and region;
- Five years of experience demonstrated ability to liaise and communicate with department heads, senior management, and external stakeholders to effectively understand, interpret, design and present practical clinical and business solutions to address the complex needs and challenges of their portfolio or organization;
- Five years knowledge of governance structures, benchmarking activities and project value analysis;
- 10 years of experience in change management initiatives, developing strategic plans linking technology initiatives with strategic organizational and regional goals while driving financial, human resource, administrative and support services functions;
- 10 years of experience leading the documentation of workflows and identifying business/functional requirements.
