**Job Summary**:
Supervisor, Event Bookings Food Services will manage event coordination across multiple locations ensuring a balanced workload distribution while maintaining high standards of client care.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Supervises and provides leadership to Food Services event coordinators including: training and development, compliance to standards and individual development planning
- Directs, coordinates and supervises staff daily work to ensure timely response provided to internal and external clients with contracts, event quotes, banquet event orders and invoicing
- Management and maintenance of catering information housed on third party websites that promote food service venues (The Living Arts Centre, Civic Centre, BraeBen Golf Course)
- Initiate client care standards for internal and external clients. Develop and adhere to a steps of service protocol.
- Develops and implements procedures and standards ensuring compliance to Corporate Policies and applicable legislation(s)
- Develops and monitors annual work plan
- Respond and prepare required RFP documents for internal and external clients
- Attend trade shows or other marketing opportunities to promote the City of Mississauga’s event spaces
- Prepares and manages current operational and capital budgets; works effectively with the external contractors, lease holders and other City departments
- Leads and participates in divisional and business unit projects, priorities and work task teams
- Complete annual benchmarking exercise
- Access survey results, identify areas of improvement and develop and implement corrective action
- Preparing monthly reporting documents
- Forecast quarterly financial results
- Develop and implement revenue sources and cost efficiencies
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Hotel and Resort Administration or Business Administration
- 5 years minimum of progressive event management experience required
- Ability to effectively and efficiently maximize the use of human and financial resources to meet community and department needs
- Experience in the supervision of full time staff
- Performs full time quarterly staff evaluations and manages staff performance
- Must possess exceptional leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Possess ability to establish effective working relationships in team environment
- Have excellent judgement and analytical skills
- Excellent leadership, planning, organizational, problem solving and time management skills
- Demonstrated supervisory, leadership and team building skills required
- Demonstrated experience in exercising strong policy and procedure discipline
- Strong interpersonal skills, combined with excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to liaise with effectively with the public, elected officials and outside agencies
- Valid CPR, First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of Fire Code requirements
- Smart Serve training mandatory
- Food Handlers Certification obtained within 6 months of hire
- Health and Safety Certification an asset
- Previous work experience in municipal government an asset but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) ActiveNet and SAP
- Flexible hours and shift work (including evenings and weekends) is required Valid Ontario Drivers license and access to a vehicle as travel between locations is required Hourly Rate/Salary: $ 74,817.00 - $ 99,758.00
