**Professional Development Coordinator**

**LOCATION**:Anishinabek Nation Head Office, Nipissing First Nation

1 Year Term Position (with Benefits)

(after successfully completing 3 months of employment)

**Salary Range: $60,032 to $68,036**

The Professional Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting First Nation Capacity Building and Training Opportunities. The Professional Development Coordinator works with Anishinabek Nation Department Directors and staff, external training partners, such as: First Nations, businesses, and federal and provincial representatives, while working within policy parameters and administrative guidelines.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Office Administration, Education, or Indigenous Studies;
- Minimum two years of experience coordinating projects or community programs;
- Working knowledge of government funded programs, agreements and reporting;
- Experience with the development of workshops or capacity building within First Nations, considered an asset;
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and relevant computer systems, programs and software) and able to learn new technologies and tools; and
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and be insurable.

- Ability to understand and speak Anishinaabemowin or willingness to learn.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Coordinating a series of First Nation Capacity Building Workshops with Anishinabek Nation communities, departments and workshop delivery partners;
- Participating and contributing to the review of agreements and reporting templates with the First Nation Capacity Building Officials and providing feedback on the development of organization / department specific half-day workshop materials;
- Communicating, informing, and marketing First Nation Capacity Building Workshops to Anishinabek Nation Leadership, Finance Departments and Program Managers;
- Responding to First Nation Capacity Building Workshop inquiries and ensuring appropriate and timely follow up;
- Communicating any issues of concern with appropriate departmental Director;
- Coordinating and providing assistance with planning and arranging hybrid First Nation Capacity Building Workshops logistics, venues, participant and staff travel;
- Identifying and registering workshop participants and distributing online registration link to participants to self-register;
- Coordinating the First Nation Capacity Building Workshops registration process, workshop materials and evaluation process;
- Traveling within the region when required and attending all First Nation Capacity Building Workshops to assist with logistics and support workshop delivery partners and participants;
- Attending, actively participating and taking notes at relevant meetings and gatherings with First Nation Capacity Building Workshop Partners;
- Completing other duties as assigned by the Director of Labour Market Development; and
- Ensuring all reporting is completed as required.
