**POSITION OVERVIEW**

We’re passionate about providing our managers with accurate financial information and easy to use tools and processes to successfully manage the business and deliver on the organizational goals.

We are looking for a motivated and engaged junior accountant who wants to realize their full potential and make an impact. You will be the principal accountant for an assigned group of companies, as well as for our national subscription services. You’ll collaborate with staff across the organization while growing, learning and demonstrating your accounting and finance prowess. You will be involved in all aspects of our finance responsibilities giving you the opportunity to develop and continually challenge yourself to achieve new heights.

**KEY DELIVERABLES**
- Responsible for the processing, posting and reconciliation of Payroll, Receivables and Payables for a select group of companies. Including;
- Management of the AP process, in collaboration with Finance colleagues, Managers and admin staff to ensure all payables are accurately captured and reported in our financial system
- Participate in and support the cash management process
- Processing payroll accurately and one time
- Assistance in the preparation of month-end financial reporting
- Completion of month-end bank and revenue reconciliations
- Collaboration with team members to investigate and quickly resolve discrepancies
- Meeting third party reporting and payment requirements
- Managing relationships with third party vendors (e.g. Moneris)
- Maintaining accounting policies and procedures for assigned functions
- Assistance in T4 preparation
- Adherence to Provincial Payroll Rules and Regulations
- Identifying ways to make processes more efficient and accurate
- Responsible for processing, posting and reconciliation of our subscription service revenues
- Participate in key projects as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education and Experience**
- 2+ year direct experience posting and reporting revenues in a financial system
- 2+ years experience in accounting (payroll, accounts payable and receivables)
- Enrollment in CPA program with an Accounting degree or diploma would be considered an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Working knowledge of Great Plains accounting software
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office with advanced excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Positive professional attitude with the ability to deal with confidential information
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of processes, data and revenue reports
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
