**Evaluation Lead**

**What you’ll do**
- Design a practical evaluation model that integrates monitoring, self-assessment, planning, and evaluation of program or services (process and outcome measures). Develop specific evaluation criteria, performance measures, and definitions, and generates evidence to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and to generate recommendations.
- Assess the effectiveness of current strategies and develop appropriate evaluation plans using readily available data as well as data requiring new acquisition.
- Contribute to research and ensure new understanding and knowledge is shared by publishing findings in recognized/peer-reviewed scientific journals or presentations at professional conferences.
- Make evidence-based recommendations to BCEHS Leadership, BC health authorities, Ministry staff, and federal/ provincial/ territorial partners to develop, coordinate, and implement evidence-based provincial and regional strategies.
- Provide guidance and direction in compiling interpretative reports based on quantitative and qualitative evaluation analysis.
- Conduct complex statistical analyses, including multivariate analysis using SPSS on complex data sets
- Work collaboratively with other department members to support the identification and development of meaningful performance and outcome measures.
- Engage and work collaboratively with diverse professional staff to ensure evaluation projects are on task and on target.
- Ensure projects and policies have a quality and equity lens applied, and are inclusive of Indigenous perspectives, decolonizing practices and incorporates anti-racist principles.
- Sit on program or provincial committees as appropriate and/or required.
- Ensure the appropriate approvals are in place for projects, as required

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**:

- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Masters or Ph.D. in social sciences or health-related sciences and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in related research/evaluation/decision support in a public health environment.
Leadership competencies include acting with integrity and trust, building a team environment, communicating clearly, fostering potential using change management theory and evidence-based practices to lead organizational change initiatives related to evaluation
- building partnerships and working collaboratively with diverse levels of staff and management in the organization
- Ability to achieve results by conceptualizing and demonstrating accountability, managing resources and possessing health environment and political awareness.
Professional competencies include demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; expert knowledge of research methodologies, principles and procedures; and expert knowledge of performance outcome measurement tools and techniques and program evaluation (e.g., program logic models, impact analysis);
- ability to use advanced microcomputer software such as databases and spreadsheets, and statistical computer software for analyses of complex data sets; and ability to function independently and as a part of an interdisciplinary team
- ability to work well under pressure with limited supervision

- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
