**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Manager, Individual and Family Support, the Team Lead, Peer Support Services is responsible for the operational oversight of the CMHA Edmonton Peer College and the Peer Support Workers as well as strategic planning related to existing and future peer support programming. The Team Lead is responsible for supporting excellence in peer support competencies that result in the delivery of hope based, positive, compassionate service, and strengths-based problem solving.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Peer College
- Co-develop with PWLE and Curriculum Developers the course curricula - Core Training and Electives Training - that promotes recovery, wellness, and resilience through digital recovery support services or in person peer support services. Compare exemplars of Peer Support training syllabus and identify gaps.
- Create a student recruitment plan and actively recruit prospective Peer College students through a multi-pronged approach of relationship building with individuals and organizations.
- Develop an Application and Intake process for potential students of Peer College.
- Engage individuals with lived experience in planning for and achieving their Peer College peer support training goals.
- Encourage people with lived experience to grow as students and become leaders - members of the Peer College Faculty.
- Adapt Peer College training to meet the potential shifting needs of people with lived experience and the communities they serve.
- Create mechanisms for instructor and student input and feedback for quality assurance and performance management.
- Research exemplars and create a student graduation trajectory (qualifications, process, certification).
- Peer Support Services
- Research and learn about the work of Peer Support Workers (PWSs) who offer in person practical skills building, personal growth, recovery services connection, and social support; delivered in the home or the community.
- Create a Recruitment Plan for Peer College training of people with lived experience to become PSW graduates. Recruit and support PSWs in training to be specialists in their field.
- Interview, hire, and onboard a team of CMHA-ER Peer Support Workers.
- Create a Service Delivery Plan for PSW peer support services delivered to clients in the home or the community.
- Review and triage incoming CMHA-ER Helplines requests for peer services delivered to people with lived experience - PSW clients - who will benefit from up to 3 months of peer support services from PSWs. Assign the PSW client caseloads and support the PSWs in working with their clients to meet the client identified recovery goals and objectives.
- Co-Chair with the Family Services Lead weekly Peer Support Services Team where updates, successes, challenges, and recovery strategies are discussed.
- Meet regularly 1:1 with PSWs to check in and provide support to them in their roles as peer specialists. Ensure PSWs keep service delivery logs and timesheets up to date.
- Warm Line Volunteers - Peer Warm Line
- Create a Recruitment Plan for Peer College training of people with lived experience to become volunteers Peer Warm Line graduates. Recruit and support Peer Warm Line volunteers in training to be specialists in their field.
- Interview, hire, and onboard a team of CMHA-ER Peer Warm Line volunteers.
- Create a Service Delivery Plan for Peer Warm Line support services delivered by phone - digital recovery support services.
- Supervise and support Peer Warm Line volunteers in their role as active and supportive listeners. Warm Line Volunteers feel supported through check in and 1:1 meetings.
- Ensure Peer Warm Line volunteers keep service delivery logs and they are collecting demographic data from the people they build short or long-term recovery-based relationships.
**Administration**
- Maintain the Peer College student learning database
- Schedule course calendar year for Peer College
- Maintain training materials and ensures they are kept relevant and up to date
- Collect, review and approve staff timesheets
