We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist I for our Kitchener location. This position provides the opportunity to work for a growing company, achieve professional growth within the organization and cross-train in a variety of techniques.

Reporting to the Senior Quality Control Specialist/Team Lead, the Quality Control Specialist I is responsible for review and approval of all analytical data prior to the release of the final certificate of analysis.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Perform data review (low complexity) to ensure calculations, peak integration, and data transmission are accurate
- Authorize final or revised Certificates of Analysis.
- Adhere to regulatory guidelines for GMP and ISO17025.
- Review raw data, and laboratory records to ensure no errors occurred during testing
- Implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform duties in accordance with existing project-specific requirements, and current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures and wearing required Personal Protective equipment at all times
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualification Requirements**:

- B.Sc. (Science), preferred OR combination of experience and education
- 1-2 years of technical experience in a laboratory environment working with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC)
- Complete understanding of all processes in the laboratory (chemistry and/or biology background)
- Begins to anticipate possible problems within assignment/tasks and helps to develop contingency plans in advance.
- Contributes to making decisions based on analysis within the scope of role and draws concise conclusions/ recommendations with supervision.
- Ability to multi-task
- Good attention to detail
