This role is based in Kitchener, Ontario, and offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as backup for the BQM (Back-up Quality Manager) as required;
  • Conducting daily GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) walkthroughs and reporting any findings;
  • Investigating root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective actions after reviewing with the BQM;
  • Supporting the development of food safety and quality training, including conducting training sessions for employees;
  • Managing product specification verification and documentation;
  • Examining incoming raw materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards;
  • Verifying packaging operations to ensure correct labeling, production codes, and best-before marking and carton labeling;
  • Conducting sampling of the plant environment, equipment, water, raw materials, and finished products for microbiological and/or analytical testing/sensory evaluation;
  • SUPPORTING Trials/first production approval runs in accordance with Stage Gate protocols;
  • Holding product or ingredient control and disposition;
  • Assisting with the maintenance of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) programs;
  • Participating in internal/third-party/CFIA/FDA audits;
  • Identifying and reporting non-conformances for out-of-compliance situations or food safety incidents;
  • Completing inspections for glass and brittle plastics, pest control, and overall plant food safety;
  • Supporting the BQM with RFT Data measurements and consumer complaint investigations;
  • Reporting and logging analytical test results for each line and ensuring compliance with WB/customer specifications;
  • Completing shift reports and audit sheets as required;
  • Performing certificate of analysis reviews, data entry, and filing;
  • Issuing non-conformance reporting for incoming ingredient or packaging deviations;
