ROLE OVERVIEW
The Field Operator will contribute to the success of our client’s operations by monitoring, adjusting, and maintaining equipment in a safe, reliable and productive manner throughout various collection well sites located at the Celanese Acetate, Edmonton facility.
Please note that hours of work will be Monday/Wednesday/Friday, minimum 16h per week. This position will begin April 8 and conclude September 30.
EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Journeyman or equivalent qualifications.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in the construction industry
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation.
- Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Mechanical or electrical / controls background is considered an asset.
- Industry knowledge of safety practices, employment practices, and emergency procedures is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, especially the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Safety tickets: First Aid

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), including review of and improvement to existing SOP’s.
- Participate in safety audits and safety programs and maintain a safe work environment.
- Provide effective written and oral communications to the project manager / coordinator that cover routine and non-routine issues, problems faced, well operating conditions, etc.
- Safely operate, monitor, adjust, and maintain controls to ensure production rates are achieved.
- Review and evaluate equipment deficiencies and if required initiate maintenance work requests followed by preparing equipment, as necessary, for maintenance activities using Lock Out/Tag Out Standards.
- Develop competencies to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve operating issues that will impact safety, reliability, or production.
- Sample products, record, and analyze datalogger, adjust unit parameters to meet product specifications as well as prioritize.
- Install, repair, and adjust pumps, HDPE transfer lines, insulation, heat tracing, electrical / controls, perform routine maintenance on production equipment, and monitor operations, troubleshooting whenever necessary.
- Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to Project Manager.
- Ability to work safely individually and as part of a team.
- Performs other operational duties as assigned.

POSITION CONDITIONS
- Work environment may be outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must provide your own safety footwear for on-site work
- From time-to-time additional hours may be required for repairs, start-up, miscellaneous project work that exceeds the normal operating hours.
- May require lifting objects in excess of 25 kilograms.
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent.
