MBDA is dedicated to fostering good inter-community relationships in the Malton area and beyond, through educational, cultural, and social activities. We are a black-led and black-focused Association with 95% of our membership self-identifying as black and 92% of our leadership. Our mandate is to promote the well-being of the Black Community through cultural, recreational, social, and educational activities. All programs are Black-focused and tailored to the unique needs of the target population. We focus on the following objectives:

- Working cooperatively with parents, guardians, and all stakeholders to improve the academic standing of Black students
- Encouraging and promoting social and cultural expression
- Mentoring and empowering Black adults to participate in the decision-making level of our educational system impacts the sustainability of families
- Promoting youth and adult involvement in recreational and competitive sporting activities that contribute to a healthy lifestyle
- Sponsoring programs that educate the less fortunate about available resources that can enhance their livelihoods

**SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION**:
The Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in the effective implementation and management of the organization's programs and initiatives. This position involves coordinating various aspects of program delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation. The Program Coordinator works closely with staff, volunteers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure program success and impact.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist in the development of program goals, objectives, and strategies in alignment with the organization's mission and priorities.
- Contribute to the design and planning of program activities, workshops, events, and initiatives.
- Research and identify best practices, resources, and opportunities to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.

**Implementation and Execution**:

- Coordinate logistics and resources for program activities, including venue booking, materials preparation, and participant communication.
- Facilitate program sessions, workshops, and events as needed, ensuring smooth execution and positive participant experiences.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver program components according to established timelines and quality standards.

**Monitoring and Evaluation**:

- Develop and maintain systems for monitoring program progress, outputs, and outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on program performance indicators and impact metrics.
- Conduct regular evaluations and assessments to identify strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement.

**Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Build and maintain relationships with program participants, volunteers, partners, and community members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide program updates, solicit feedback, and address concerns.
- Collaborate with external partners and agencies to leverage resources, share knowledge, and expand program reach.
- Assist in the development and management of program budgets, including tracking expenses and income.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and databases related to program activities, participants, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders as required.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, education, public health, nonprofit management) preferred.
- Previous experience in program coordination, project management, or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to the organization's mission, values, and principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, depending on program needs and event schedules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for social change and making a positive difference in the community. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities, environments, and challenges inherent in the nonprofit sector.

Pay: $52,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
