Job Summary
BC's Gynecologic Cancer Initiative is a world-leading, interdisciplinary team working together to drive innovative research that transforms how we prevent, diagnose, treat and improve survivorship care for people with gynecological cancer. We're looking for a Knowledge Mobilization and Project Coordinator to join our team of scientists and communications team.
**Project Coordination**: You will work closely with the Faculty leads of the Ovarian Cancer Observatory to drive the deliverables of this international research partnership aimed at understanding the origins of ovarian cancers and opportunistic salpingectomy as a primary prevention strategy.
**Knowledge Mobilization**: Together, with our agile Communications team, you will plan and craft innovative ways to share what we do, how we do it, and why it is important. You will work at the interface between patient partners, and scientific, clinical and knowledge translation experts to create content and develop strategies that will enhance the uptake of clinical management practice guidelines to improve patient care.
Organizational Status
**Project Coordination**: You will report to Dr. Gillian Hanley and Dr. David Huntsman, co-leads of the Ovarian Cancer Observatory, and work closely with international clinicians, scientists and other partners.
**Knowledge Mobilization**: This position reports directly to the Operational Leader, Gynecologic Cancer Initiative and receives direction from the individual researchers/faculty with regards to their specific knowledge mobilization activities.
Work Performed
**Project Coordination**:
Financial and project management of the Ovarian Cancer Observatory; including setting milestones, liaising with relevant stakeholders, monitoring project progress, and overseeing preparation of status reports, budgets, and other project documents
Project planning and execution in alignment with established project goals and objectives, and ensuring timeline for deliverables are met
Preparing academic reports, presentations, scientific communications and resource documents
Developing new international partnerships and scientific collaborations as part of the Ovarian Cancer Observatory
Key point of contact with project collaborators, partners and stakeholders
Keeping project participants informed of the project's progress through regular reports and communication
**Knowledge Mobilization**:
Developing tailored communication and knowledge mobilization plans for various initiatives and projects
Engaging knowledge users throughout the life cycle of projects and initiatives to identify knowledge needs and gaps, develop and implement plans in response, and iteratively improve tools and resources based on feedback
Developing and delivering creative knowledge mobilization products, tools and resources through a collaborative and iterative process. Includes general public, patient and healthcare provider-facing materials and resources, evidence-based reports, reports for funders, government and policy makers, training and educational materials, presentations and webinars and videos
Developing an in-depth understanding and interconnectedness of the team's work, positioning and strategic objectives
Collaborating with the Communication team to plan and implement knowledge mobilization initiatives using various platforms: social media, print, digital print, video, ebulletin, workshops, and others
Developing key messages/reports/communication materials
Creating and maintaining material and resource repositories for various projects and initiatives
Maintaining up to date internal database of project activities and contact details of stakeholder groups for knowledge mobilization and
