Job Summary

The primary focus of this position is to provide communications and knowledge mobilization support for the Sexual Health And genito-Pelvic pain knowledge Empowerment Hub (SHAPE): a pan-Canadian initiative dedicated to addressing barriers in accessing information and treatment for sexual diffi culties and genito-pelvic pain in women and gender-diverse people. The Research Communications Coordinator will assist with research and knowledge mobilization work, such as supporting study recruitment, assisting with data analysis, and creating and distributing knowledge translation and communications materials.

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the research carried out in the UBC Sexual Health Research Lab, this individual must understand and exemplify the ethics of confi dentiality, sensitivity, and respect when communicating with all partners and participants.

Organizational Status

The Research Communications Coordinator reports to the Principal Investigator and will work primarily under the direction of the SHAPE Knowledge Mobilization Manager. This position will be based in the Diamond Health Care Centre at Vancouver General Hospital.

Work Performed

Design and distribute communication materials such as the Hub newsletter

Participate in research team meetings and follow up on action items

Support outreach for community engagement, webinars, workshops and events

Support recruitment efforts for Hub surveys by designing fl iers and social media posts

Program questionnaires in Qualtrics

Prepare paperwork for processing participant compensation

Assist in conducting systematic literature reviews, a policy/legislative scan, and support the synthesis of grey literature

Support data analysis for surveys

Other related duties as required

Consequence of Error/Judgement

The Research Communications Coordinator is required to conduct all research activities in an ethical manner and with adherence to the Tri-Council Policy Statement concerning Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans. Any procedures or data recorded as part of this research must be accurate and must accurately refl ect the work performed. Strict confi dentiality of all study participants must be adhered to.

Supervision Received

Direct supervision and review of tasks and performance will be carried out by the Knowledge Mobilization Manager. The Research Communications Coordinator will work independently with regular check-ins with the High school graduation, some additional training in a related fi eld and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with creative software, including Adobe Suite and Canva

Experience with digital and social advertising platforms

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Exceptional detail-orientation and organization

Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure that time-sensitive duties are completed in priority

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $26.67-$31.73 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
