We are looking for a **Health & Safety Coordinator** to join our team in this newly created role

**You have**:

- Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety from a recognized post-secondary institution OR equivalent occupational health and safety experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to draft policy
- Ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees, both unionized and non-unionized at all levels of the business
- Prior experience in conducting incident/accident investigations an asset
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health & safety laws, regulations, and best practices in construction, manufacturing, office, and/or other settings
- Knowledge of ESG initiatives a definite asset
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and interest in professional growth
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Full G-class driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract Ability to travel within the Region as needed

**As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will**:

- Administer Health & Safety programs in collaboration with the H&S Advisor, People & Culture, Operations, and Site Management
- Administer and manage WSIB claims including claim submission, coordinating early and safe return to work programs, following up with employees and WSIB to ensure documentation is up-to-date and correct
- Monitor modified work programs and employee recovery with a goal of returning employees to their pre-injury jobs
- Maintain and execute Ramudden Canada’s safety programs - including but not limited to risk management, incident investigations, & training programs
- With guidance from the Health & Safety Advisor, assess OHS programs and procedures, make recommendations for improvement and alignment with OHS legislation and Company goals
- Assist with safety audits/inspections on facilities, worksites, and equipment/material conditions, across all Ramudden Canada divisions
- Maintain safety records and various H&S documentation with a high degree of confidentiality
- Organize and deliver training/orientation sessions on Health and Safety and other related topics
- Ensure that Health and Safety boards are kept up to date with required legislative information and JHSC minutes
- Encourage and promote a safe work culture with a positive attitude
