**Nursing Vision and Strategy Lead**
Reports to: Vice President, Programs and Services & Chief Nurse Executive
As part of Holland Bloorview, you will be contributing to fulfill the strategic plan and priorities of the organization, which include creating the most meaningful and healthy futures for all children, youth, and families. This will be achieved in an academic health sciences centre, specifically focused on evolving client-centred quality, safety and excellence, care/leading practices, research, teaching, and collaborative teams in pediatric rehabilitation.
**Summary**
The nursing vision and strategy lead is responsible to assist the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) to create and translate the vision and strategic direction for nursing into tangible goals and actions for all categories of nursing in collaboration with operations leadership, collaborative practice leaders, and with system partners where possible.
**Key Responsibilities**
Strategic Advisement and Leadership:
- Lead, plan, implement, evaluate and sustain strategic initiatives that contribute to the highest quality of nursing professional practice and advances the learning health system at HB and beyond
- Inform HHR planning that is evidence based through stakeholder engagement internally and with other organizations to inform nursing strategy (government, academic partners, regulatory body, professional organizations, IDEAA leads)
- Partner with hospital data analytics team to build, reprise, and interpret data insights related to nursing practice.
- Examine and summarize nursing data to inform CNE strategic decision making.
- Inform the adoption of systems and technologies to support practice, enhance workflow and client care, and reduce administrative burden for nurses at the point of care
- Support the CNE to sustain high performing inter-professional teams and advancing practice of nursing through specialization, career laddering, mentorship
- Build and create opportunities to integrate research and clinical practice to advance client care and nursing practice
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of various nursing focused activities that celebrate and recognize the contribution of nursing as a profession (nursing week, conferences presentations, scholarly publications, academic engagements)
- Preceptor and mentor students and nurses for career advancement
- Holds academic adjunct appointment or eligible to pursue and participates in TAHSN practice collaborations
**Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Master's degree in nursing or in a related health care field completed or currently pursuing
- Valid registration and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Previous relevant clinical experience in paediatric nursing preferred
- Experience in strategic thinking, project management, planning and clinical operations is an asset
- Data and problem-solving aptitude, strong communication, presentation, writing skills (briefing notes, proposal writing, academic posters and presentations, web page content familiarity)
- History of leadership skills to proactively monitor and analyze industry trends and nursing market changes
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed
- Advanced computer software skills, data analytics and medical terminology an asset
- Eligibility for cross appointment with a nursing faculty
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation (e.g., Public Hospital Acts, Nursing Act, Regulated Health Professions Act, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of the healthcare system and the health professions education/academic system
