The position of eCommerce Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing Trail’s onsite digital monetization program, eliminating all minor website usability issues impacting site performance and overall guest experience as well as providing detailed reporting and insights to key stakeholders across the organization regarding site and monetization program performance.
**Responsibilities**:
- Onsite Monetization Program
oWork closely with internal stakeholders from Purchasing, eCommerce and Marketing to help grow our website retail media business.
oCoordinate with cross functional team members regarding deliverables for the program. Ensure it is clear what needs to be completed by when to action supplier placement purchases.
oCreate an onsite monetization roadmap with support from the Director of Online Experience to implement program improvements and introduce new monetization opportunities.
oCreate and distribute program updates and reporting to both internal and external teams.
oOverall accountability for achieving program financial targets.
- Onsite Optimization
oResponsible for creating and actioning tactical onsite usability roadmap - After initial onboarding conduct a thorough audit of our existing website experience to document all minor usability challenges impacting our online guest’s experience. Use this audit to create a usability roadmap and work with the eCommerce Team to action.
oWork closely with the Director of Online Experience to develop KPIs that will inform how the onsite optimization roadmap is prioritized and impact measured.
oSetup, monitor and distribute reporting to measure the impact of onsite changes.
oRecommend optimization tests to run. Assist the organization in developing a consistent approach to onsite usability testing.
oSpecific accountability regarding the number of roadmap items to be determined once the roadmap has been created.
- Day to day website operations
oAssist the eCommerce team with daily website QA to catch and log any onsite issues. Monitor key KPIs such as conversion rate, bounce rate, exit rate and checkout flow to spot any irregularities. Communicate issues to relevant teams should they be encountered.
oAssist the eCommerce Merchandising Team with promotion testing and price vetting in advance of major promotions.
oProvide ad hoc reporting to stakeholders upon request.
oAssist with running meetings and providing internal / external partners eCommerce related updates/communication as requested by the Director of Online Experience.
**Required Skills**:
- At least 3 years of experience working in the eCommerce industry. Ideally previous eCommerce experience will have been in the following areas - onsite merchandising, data and analytics, conversion rate optimization, onsite monetization or onsite operations.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to compellingly present new ideas and opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to facilitate and lead cross functional meetings.
- Strong eCommerce business acumen and understanding of eCommerce best practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot minor usability issues that others may miss.
- Previous experience with Google Analytics, Google Data Studio or comparable product.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products, especially Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Basic understanding of how eCommerce platforms such as Adobe Commerce function.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Thrive in a fluid environment where change is constant.
Desired Skills
- 1-2 years’ experience in a previous eCommerce leadership role preferred.
- Certification or prior experience working in or setting up a conversion rate optimization program.
- Experience operating Google Tag Manager to assist with onsite reporting and tracking efforts.
- Experience running onsite usability tests
