**Job description**

**Required Knowledge**: The position of Customer Relations Specialist does not require specific formal education. The Customer Relations Specialist must prove they have practical experience in delivering exceptional customer service, the maintenance of medical and business records, a proactive and solutions-based approach to issues, and the required knowledge of the Receptionist.

**General Duties**:
Client Relations
- Greet clients and pets by name immediately upon entering.
- Ensure that the front / sides of hospital, reception area and exam rooms are clean and odor free.
- Schedule appointments and surgeries.
- Answer all calls in a friendly and professional manner. You will route calls to the proper staff members, and answer inquiries about services and or products.
- Take food orders for clients and place on hospital logs.
- Take medication requests for clients and send to doctor for approval.
- Record all conversations with clients including first name and time of call in medical records as dictated by clinic and CVO standards.
- Follow established clinic policies and procedures when talking with clients
- Reaffirm doctor recommendations at completion of appointment

Fees
- Collect and process payments. This will include processing credit cards and debit payments, and MVS payments.
- Know the fees for routine services so that you can inform your clients.
- Explain all invoices in detail to clients. If you cannot answer their questions regarding fees, speak with the attending RVT/Doctor or Manger.
- End of day/shift balancing of cash.
- Accounts Receivable collections and monthly service charges that are calculated (on the same date of) every month.

Inventory
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of OTC products.
- Place daily order by designated time after reviewing for accuracy, including special order items and hospital needs
- Confirming the quantity on hand of all inventory items via bi-weekly physical counts.
- Entering the order received, ensuring proper quantity, updated price and product code is current.

The primary function of the Veterinary Assistant is to assist the professional staff in the delivery of veterinary assistance to patients and their owners. This includes duties related to patient care and treatment and to the organization and cleanliness of the hospital.

**Required Knowledge**:The position of Veterinary Assistant does not require specific formal education. The Veterinary Assistant must prove they have practical experience in the organization and services available in the hospital. They must have knowledge of outpatient procedures, animal restraint, requirements for medical records and maintenance of the hospital.

**General Duties**: A Veterinary Assistant helps the technicians, doctors, and receptionists in all duties of the hospital. The responsibilities vary with the current needs of the hospital staff, the season of the year, and the individual abilities demonstrated by the employee. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

- KENNEL ASSISTING: Care of boarding and hospitalized animals including cage cleaning, exercising, feeding, observation for signs of illness, parasite and disease control, laundry, bathing, and keeping animals clean.
- HOSPITAL MAINTENANCE: General cleaning of public and employee areas, building and yard maintenance to maintain clean, odorless and attractive environment. Housekeeping and laundry duties for all areas as directed. Help with sterilizing surgical equipment and surgical packs.
- ASSISTING WITH ANIMALS: Ability to restrain for procedures performed by technicians or doctors.
- CLIENT INTERACTION: Professional, cheerful and helpful attitude when contacting pet owners, answering phones, and assisting team members.
- RECEPTION: Knowledge of cashiering outpatients, booking appointments, cancelling / rescheduling appointments.
- LABORATORY: Preparing samples as directed, requisition management, and clean-up of laboratory area.
- ASSISTING TEAM MEMBERS: Animal restraint, prescription filling as directed, cleaning as directed, billing and medical records management as directed, basic surgical assisting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
