The Ministry of Trade, Immigration and Multiculturalism has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Corporate Operations Manager to join our team

The Corporate Operations Manager is an integral part of the Corporate Planning and Services Unit, which is responsible for fostering strong corporate governance strategies and practices to support operational efficiency and effectiveness and organizational development. The branch is responsible for corporate planning, risk management, performance and public accountability reporting, leading corporate change management initiatives, providing operational excellence supports, and providing corporate accommodations services and supports.

The Corporate Operations Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation and adherence to enterprise-wide and department-specific corporate policies and processes to support efficient and effective operations, including supporting red tape reduction, the ministry strategic digital roadmap, and initiatives in support of diversity and inclusion. The Manager takes a strategic and holistic approach to identifying and addressing organizational-level challenges or opportunities and solutions for continuous improvement.

The Manager supervises two program services-level staff and works with staff at all levels within the department, and across government, to ensure legislative, policy, and business requirements for enterprise and department-specific corporate initiatives are met and are applied in a way that meets the needs of the department. This role also ensures that divisional input is accurately and appropriately represented in the development and implementation of these initiatives.

This position requires a systems-thinker with strong communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills. Experience with Microsoft Office suite is required - in particular, Word, Excel, Visio and Outlook - as well as with Adobe Acrobat.

In your role as a Corporate Operations Manager, you will be responsible to:

- Oversee staff to proactively research and identify the issues and risks that the department is facing in the immediate term, as well as in the future. This includes leveraging external resources and stakeholders to identify risks.
- Liaise with key stakeholders as required to facilitate the implementation of new corporate initiatives. This may include central agencies within the government as well as other ministries.
- Lead the team in a strong, systems thinking approach, identifying impacts, interconnections and/or unintended consequences across divisions to support innovative and effective approaches / alternatives, anticipate stakeholder reactions and manage issues and relationships.
- Support the development of the annual operational planning, budgeting and forecasting for the unit.
- Manage and respond to requests for information in a timely manner. Provide guidance and support to senior leadership based on research and leading practices.
- Manage the completion of action requests by seeking clarity when required, assigning appropriate resources and reviewing product to ensure accuracy, completeness and relevance.

**Requirements**:

- University graduation in a field related (such as Commerce, Public Administration, etc.) to the position assignment, supplemented by three years related experience.
- Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

**Assets Include**:

- Experience with operational excellence methods and change management process, is considered an asset
- One of the following PMI certifications would be considered an asset:

- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
