**Job Description**:
The Learning and Development Specialist provides field training and support to Extendicare’s long-term care homes and retirement homes across Canada. As part of the Learning and Development team, the Learning and Development Specialist - Operations Manager, will be responsible for supporting business office operations, on-site and/or off-site in the interim where homes need operations managers. You will also support any training solutions onsite including back-office processes, learning assessments for business office staff, etc. to support the Senior Manager.
The reason for travel is based on business needs and may be for the following reasons:
- Business Office vacancy that requires short term, interim support.- Training for new Business Office staff.- Identified area of risk/improvement from the business, head office departments etc. that requires an on-site visit for ongoing support, re-skilling, learning assessments, etc.
**Responsibilities**:- Process and verify invoices, payments and remittances related to 3rd party providers, including agency staffing and independent contractors. Maintain external vendor relationships.- Handle payments from families and all queries concerning billings from residents and /or families; manage resident intake, setup, on-going billing, collections, and discharges.- Administer and maintain financial records including banking, petty cash, resident trust, government funding programs, etc.- Maintain and update resident and employee census records; ensures confidentiality of all financial, personnel and resident data; Create and communicate job postings for home/facility positions.- training on technical systems and processes such as NH Scheduler (and Workday), PCC, Trust Reconciliation, etc.- creating materials (i.e. reference guides, checklists, etc.) to assist in knowledge transfer.- Communicates with departmental Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that relevant training program information is current.- Participates in process improvements and projects using lean principles.- Performs systems testing for possible enhancements and implementations when required.- Assists in the implementation of new homes on behalf of Extendicare and Extendicare Assist where onsite training is provided across Canada for new business office staff as they transition into Extendicare’s policies, procedures, and best practices.- Participates in risk management analysis for the purposes of identifying the homes that require special care, training and/or additional support.- Performs systems testing for possible enhancements and implementations when required.- Provides superior customer service to all internal and external customers.- Other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Working knowledge of Time Tracking and Attendance duties in Workday. Willing to learn other tasks to be performed in Workday as required in the capacity of an Operations Manager-
- Experience in coaching and improving business processes- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts for a diverse audience, writing coherent procedural documentation with the ability to format documents in a standardized, clean, and professional manner.- Must be able to learn a large volume of complicated material in a short time, capable of multi-tasking, with the capacity to “self-teach” when necessary.- Must have ‘G” license and your own personal, reliable car for occasional travel.- Must be willing to travel over a weekend, if required.- Must be willing to travel up to two-three consecutive weeks at a given time- Design and development experience of creative training solutions; including, but not limited to interactive ILT, v-ILT, e-learning, and blended learning would be an asset.
