- Please note this is a one-year contract with extension available dependent on funding

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The program Managed Alcohol Program (MAP) Manager will be responsible for supporting and directly supervising the Managed Alcohol Program (MAP) and directly supervising 3 support workers, 1 outreach and programming worker, and various volunteers. The program manager is also responsible for the operations of the building, providing case management support and expertise, and liaising with external stakeholders. The manager will be responsible for reviewing referrals of potential intakes and determining appropriateness for the program. The MAP Manager has the responsibility and authority to create, develop, manage, and evaluate the service delivery in the MAP. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation and maintenance of Care Plans that are person
- centered, provide choice, and are flexible and adaptive to meet client needs by using a strength-based approach. The MAP Manager ensures that guiding values of Boyle Street Community Services are upheld in all activities and services undertaken within the program.

**KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Direct day-to-day operations of programs (during service hours, appropriate staffing, necessary resources and program supplies made available, occupational health and safety codes are followed and enforced).
- Manage and support frontline staff in their role(s) by observing performance, debriefing, and supporting staff development to ensure appropriate services to the clients.
- Provide direct management and supervision and support to frontline staff of your teams and departments.
- Complete regular strategic planning and program evaluation.
- Briefing colleagues on internal and external emerging opportunities, issues, trends and learnings in your area of work
- Ensure proper sanitation and brewing processes are being followed, monitor quality control of alcohol to ensure safe consumption
- Update staff on the progress of the program and its participants
- Ensure all client data collection and reporting are carried out in an efficient and timely manner
- Conduct site visits with participants to external stakeholders
- Participate in cultural activities, Ceremony and daily smudge

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Experience**:

- At least 3 years’ experience supervising frontline staff
- At least 2 years’ experience providing case management
- Strong understanding of harm reduction
- Experience of networking with a range of partners and stakeholders.
- Experience of working at all levels across teams and/or departments within an organization.
- Experience of report writing is desirable.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driver’s abstract
- Criminal Record and Child Intervention Checks (results will be reviewed on a case by case basis)

**Skills, Abilities and Attitudes**:

- Ability to work in a highly stressful, ever changing environment
- Must have excellent boundaries
- Mental resiliency is key
- Willingness to be flexible and to grow with a new program
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of poverty related issues, trends and services particularly within, but not limited to the urban Indigenous population is essential.
- Knowledge and experience of Indigenous culture is essential.
