**Overview**:
The Marketing Specialist is a key role within the Marketing, Communications, and Development Team. Reporting to the Executive Director and working in very close collaboration with the Communications Specialist, the Marketing Specialist strategizes, executes, manages, and measures the effectiveness of all marketing initiatives in support of Fringe Theatre’s year-round operations and activities.

The Marketing Specialist develops, manages, and executes all strategic marketing and advertising initiatives, including building organizational brand awareness, planning and executing season and Festival promotional activities, growing stakeholder engagement and retention, analyzing audience trends, and overseeing the tactical development of marketing and advertising campaigns. Offering a strategic approach to professional marketing, this role leads marketing activity in support of all Fringe Theatre activities, programs, and initiatives, including the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival, the Fringe Theatre Season, Fringe Grounds Cafe, Indigenous Innovation Program, Volunteer recruitment, Fringe Learn, Fringe Shop, FringeTV, community events, audience engagement, and more.

- Support the development, implementation, execution, and evaluation of strategic marketing and advertising plans for all programs and activities of Fringe Theatre;
- Build brand awareness;
- Develop, execute, manage, and evaluate advertising and promotional activities and campaigns, including reporting on profit-loss projections, return on investment, and campaign outcomes;
- Collaborate with the Communications Specialist to develop creative content for marketing and promotional campaigns;
- Collaborate with the Development team to support sponsorship stewardship and fundraising activities;
- Oversee Fringe Shop merchandising and sales targets;
- Project manage the development, ad sales, printing, distribution, and evaluation of the Fringe Festival Guide in support of the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival;
- Develop, execute, manage, and evaluate digital strategies for audience engagement;
- Collaborate with the Communications Specialist regarding the role of social media, public relations, and marketing within the larger marketing and communications plans and strategies;
- Support special events for sponsors, media, patrons, and key stakeholders;
- Research patron demographics, trends, and areas for growth;
- Develop strategies to increase ticket sales while balancing patron satisfaction;
- Support public relations, including media engagement;
- Develop, manage, and evaluate stakeholder surveys relevant to Fringe’s initiatives, programs, and growth;
- Cultivate and steward relationships and contracts with advertising and promotional partners;
- In collaboration with Fringe’s Graphic Designer and departments, project manage the development and execution of Fringe Theatre Arts Barns signage and Fringe Festival signage;
- Collaboratively support all activities of the Marketing, Communications, and Development Team; and
- Uphold and champion Fringe’s commitment to Radical Hospitality, Safer Spaces, and Anti-Racism.

This is a full-time, permanent position. While our usual hours of operation are Monday - Friday, as a busy cultural space supporting more than 500 events year-round and as the producers of the largest, longest-running Fringe Theatre Festival in North America, there is an expectation that staff are reasonably available evenings and weekends based on season and Festival event activity.
