**Director of Finance - Calgary**

Clearpoint Health Network is Canada’s largest trusted provider of independent surgical and multi-disciplinary medical centres across Canada. Working in close collaboration with hospitals, insurance providers, provincial and regional health organizations and workers’ compensation boards, Clearpoint delivers high-quality care across Canada meeting the needs of patients, while alleviating capacity pressure on public health systems. Our Calgary location is recruiting for a Director of Finance in our Calgary offices.

The Director of Finance is responsible for the overall management of the finance department, ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. Provides leadership and direction to the finance team, ensures adherence to all policies and procedures. Motivates and leads by example, and provides a supportive learning environment. Strong knowledge of ASPE, with attention to detail and the ability to carry out assigned tasks within timelines are key components of this role. The Director of Finance reports to the CFO.

**Accountabilities**:

- Manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting team, ensuring accuracy of financial statements for the centre division.
- Manages ad hoc requests, month end, quarter end, and year end close activities
- Leads the accounting team by hands on, side-by-side coaching and ensures accounting staff are adequately trained and supported
- Plans, directs and controls all operational, administrative and financial activities through effective coordination with the executive, corporate and management teams
- In collaboration with operations team, establishes annual budgets, targets, and operation objectives and ensures effective monitoring, performance, and control of these objectives
- Creates and implements strategic plans, the annual business plan and budgets, working closely with the CFO, CEO and the Leadership Team
- Responsible for the continuous improvement/integration of accounting tools (i.e. ERP migration) & processes
- Provides financial leadership to the Management team in terms of business planning and financial projections, budgets, preparation and analysis of financial information, and develops management and operating controls
- Ensures consistency of travel and expense reporting by all employees in accordance with Company policy guidelines
- Reviews and approves manual journal entries, allocations (journal entries) as they relate to financial statement accounts; manual journal entries from billing systems to the G/L
- Review and/or prepare financial statement accounts and prepares appropriate adjustments (month-end journal entries) in compliance with ASPE
- Responsible for quarterly reviews and annual audits as it relates to general accounting
- Liaises with corporate team and external auditors in preparation for year-end financial statements

**Qualifications/Experience**:
**Essential**
- Designated CPA, CA, CGA or CMA
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience with accounting and/or enterprise reporting systems preferred
- Knowledge of ASPE
- Strong analytical skills, with advance knowledge of MS Excel to manipulate raw data for reporting and analysis
- Experience in preparation of audit working papers
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking
- High-energy self-starter with a sense of urgency in initiating and implementing best practices in a complex, multi-faceted business environment
- Proven track record of accurately reporting financial analysis, providing and managing financial solutions for senior management
- A team player capable of interacting professionally with both staff and clients
- Ability to function in a collaborative, dynamic and fast paced work environment
- Preferred understanding of the Health Care Industry
- Sage300, Sage Intacct and/or Quickbooks experience preferred
- Public practice experience
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Alberta Human Rights Code._
