- As an Advisor, Corporate Finance in the Treasury division you will be a principal corporate finance liaison within the organization providing strategic and financial advice to all departments, business units, subsidiaries, civic and external partners. You will interpret financial and commercial transactions for The City’s capital investments and credit portfolio and provide advice on all aspects of corporate financing solutions. You will be a key development and operational contact to ensure transaction alignment with corporate liquidity and debt management activities, and compliance with project and credit agreements. Primary duties include:

Liaison with business units, subsidiaries, civic and external partners and consultants to provide strategic financial and commercial advice on capital projects, and initiatives.
Perform financial due diligence on transactions for City business units, subsidiaries, and civic partners including reviewing cash flows, financing structures, debt requirements and funding sources, contractual terms and conditions from funding partners or creditors.

- Perform commercial due diligence including administering The City’s Public-Private Partnership Policy, providing financial support to the development, review and negotiations of commercial terms and conditions, including project governance, budget, financing, payment mechanisms and financial security.
Conduct research on precedent project transactions, financing arrangements, comparable transactions or comparable agreements terms and conditions.
Prepare and present a variety of reports and recommendations incorporating appropriate risk and financial analyses for senior management, committees, Council, and other stakeholders.
Monitor compliance to reporting conditions, representations and warranties, positive and negative covenants, as well as funding conditions within legal agreements.
Support the Corporate Finance reporting requirements for internal partners and Council.
Other ad-hoc analysis or requests as required.
- **Qualifications**
***A degree in Finance or Accounting accompanied by a professional designation such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), or a Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) with at least 5 years of related experience, OR;
A Master of Business Administration (MBA) with at least 3 years of related experience.
Corporate and project finance experience, as well as direct experience with Public-Private Partnerships, alternative project financing structures, and traditional debt financing for capital projects.
Practical experience with the development and execution of procurement documents, including project agreements and other contractual agreements, and legal review processes.
Excellent communication and organization skills, strong political acumen, and demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel is required.
Success in this position requires strong financial, analytical, and computer skills; effective communication and organizational skills; and the ability to work as a part of a team.
