Company Description

The Valleyfield plant's Human Resources Professional provides functional expertise and leadership to our unionized Valleyfield plant. Specifically, this individual is responsible for executing human resources strategies that enhance the talent and capacity of teams within the plant. This is a unique opportunity to be an HR business partner in a progressive environment that is part of the broader Owens Corning organization. This individual will be a key member of the salaried management team and provide functional HR leadership to ensure a highly motivated workforce and drive business results.

**Job Description**:
WHAT YOU’LL DO

HR Business Partner
- Support and facilitate the development and implementation of a clear strategy to achieve results and improvements within the company.
- Work in partnership with various stakeholders, including the plant manager, management team, employees, union, and division team to ensure consistency with Owens Corning's policies, programs and standards that are in place and adhered to, including primary and salary programs, performance management, awards, and recognitions.
- Lead talent acquisition processes by working with our internal and external recruitment partners for all salaried, primary and contract employees.
- Work in partnership with the management controller and site management to boost productivity and cost reduction initiatives.

Labor Relations
- Develop and lead the labor relations strategy for all labor relations matters.
- Effective leadership coaching to ensure constructive and consistent leadership consistent with collective agreement.
- Effectively lead contract administration and grievance resolution processes.
- Facilitate contract negotiations and arbitrations in partnership with labor relations advisors.

Leading and Developing Talent
- Perform recruitment activities for hourly and salaried positions.
- Lead, mentor and teach leaders to create an enabling environment for talent development through effective performance management and talent assessment systems.
- Oversee and lead the Training and Development (F&D) pillar and ensure alignment with functional leadership (e.g., finance, security, operations) on training, performance management and skills development to eliminate losses due to skills gaps and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of knowledge transfer strategies.
- He serves as the pillar leader of TPM training and development at the site and is responsible for executing TPM progress through competency matrices, loss analysis and performance evaluation: Competency matrices, loss analysis and training center improvement.
- Conduct training gap and needs analysis as needed and enable certification and certification of operators for professional tasks in the field.

Employee Engagement
- Hold and lead the strategy and execution of employee engagement and communication at the Valleyfield site.
- Lead the semi-annual survey on job value and operational excellence, data collection, communication, development, and implementation of resulting action plans.
- Responsible for management and events related to employee engagement and recognition.
- Responsible for fundraising events and community outreach

Human Resources Administration
- Manage HRIS and payroll systems (Kronos), ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
- Support for Pension and Benefits Administration
- Coordination of short-term disability files and the CNESST. Medical care is managed by OC's medical service.
- Maintain employee and human resources documentation in accordance with Owens Corning's record retention programs.
- Ensure data management in accordance with Owens Corning programs and standards.
- Leverage HR analytics to drive improvements.

**Qualifications**:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- University degree in human resources management, business, psychology/sociology, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

- At least 5 years of experience as an HR generalist or similar experience in a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of experience in a union environment and in collective bargaining.
- Experience managing positive employee relationships at another institution.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Kronos an asset.
- Experience with TPM and T&D management
- Bilingual French and English.

- Has up-to-date professional knowledge of the most effective human resources processes and tools, including performance management, compensation, recruitment, talent development and succession management, for ownership and implementation by executives.
- Strong ability to coach, train and empower team members to meet standards and manage performance gaps when necessary.
- Desire to continuously learn, develop and expand responsibilities and impact on the organization.
