**Role**:
Reporting to the Capital Infrastructure Development and Implementation (CIDI) Project Management & Delivery (PMD) Manager, the Project Management and Delivery Team Lead is responsible for providing planning, leadership and delivery of the Capital Program managed by CIDI for all Crown Land Infrastructure Capital Development Program.

Key responsibilities include:

- Directly supervise a team of 5-6 project managers and project coordinators.
- Create a collaborative and effective work team to meet program and project deliverables.
- Establish priorities, schedule work and monitor and report ongoing performance to capital plans.
- Prepare and administer related Capital budgets, including multi-year forecasts to CIDI capital reporting team.
- Provide direction to project managers and project coordinators as to appropriate tendering and contracting practices and processes ensuring compliance with all Provincial financial and contracting policies and procedures.
- Investigate and establish technical and strategic direction.
- Prepare construction project specifications, cost estimates, budgets and project lists. Number of projects being managed by each PMD team unit can be greater than 100 with a mix of very complex scope to simple scope.
- Administer, plan, implement and oversee all phases of development and implementation of capital projects with project team unit.
- Participate in, or lead implementation team to complete planning studies, feasibility studies, preliminary engineering assessments, including preparing and managing professional service agreements and construction contracts involving engineering, environmental sciences, architecture, resource management, surveying, monitoring, conceptual plans and detailed designs.
- Participate in, or lead implementation team to effectively coordinate/manage scope/cost/schedule for work performed by contractors and consultants.
- Effectively maintain and monitoring stringent Site Specific Health and Safety programs, as may be required to support public safety and undertake work in environmentally sensitive areas.

The PMD Team provides technical and project support in the day-to-day implementation and delivery of capital project management services from project initiation through contracting, construction and closeout on numerous projects of varying size, cost, and complexity. The focus of support is on efficient operation, repair, refurbishment, upgrades and development of new Crown Land infrastructure and assets in Parks and Public Lands, such as buildings, day use, campgrounds, trailheads, water and wastewater systems, roads, trails, bridges, secondary utilities and other related outdoor recreation infrastructure.

**Requirements**:

- Two-year technical diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Seven years related experience with specialization and experience in project management and expertise in tendering, contracting and construction is required
- Valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation along with a good working knowledge of applicable building codes and federal and provincial Acts and Regulations related to buildings, water, wastewater, roads and watercourses.

**Equivalencies**:Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Assets**:

- Having P.Eng. designation with APEGA
- Certified as a C.E.T under the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (ASET)
- Knowledge in Acts, Regulations and Codes: Provincial Parks Act, Water Act and Regulations, Public Works Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Alberta Building Codes
- Technical knowledge in Planning, Engineering and Landscape standards and design guidelines
- Bachelors degree or higher education in related field
- Supervisory experience
