The Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) plans, manages and evaluates selected specialty and province-wide health care services across BC, working with the five geographic health authorities to deliver province-wide solutions that improve the health of British Columbians. The
**Chief, Provincial Digital Solutions** (CPDS) reports to the Executive Vice President of Provincial Digital Health and Information Services (PDHIS), is an executive-level leader who is primarily accountable for the development, delivery and management of digital and information technology products and solutions that are province-wide in their scope. This includes for other health authorities (HA), providers, or patients and the public at large, including the development of a secure data platform that enables aggregation and convergence of information from corporate, clinical and personal health solutions.

The role executes the Digital Health Solutions, works closely with executives in other HA and has a close and collaborative working relationship with executives and teams within the BC Ministry of Health (MoH) and other provincial ministries to jointly advance areas of province-wide digital solutions. Additionally, the role is accountable for collaboration with the Chief Virtual Health Officer and between provincial product teams and clinical leaders to ensure that the digital solutions improve access to care, enable health system transformation, and deliver patient and consumer-focused services.

The CPDS is a trusted partner to the health system, with a proven ability to drive change within a complex multi-entity environment, and can build consensus, communicate, and drive the delivery of a clear vision and aligned strategy and roadmap in support of PHSA’s provincial mandate. As a key member of the PDHIS senior leadership team actively contributes to the overall strategic planning of the PDHIS portfolio and is accountable for the attainment of PDHIS mandates and priorities within their scope, including provincial product and service roadmaps. The CPDS is a valued member of a cross-functional team of leaders within PDHIS. **What you’ll do**
- Works as an executive-level leader of PHSA and as a key member of the PDHIS senior leadership team to further the mission, vision, and values of the organization to translate into planning and actionable objectives for PDHIS by supporting the integration of all service lines across all PHSA programs. In collaboration with the EVP, and the Executive Leadership Team as appropriate, develops and implements organizational strategic objectives.
- Provides overall product portfolio leadership for provincial digital health solutions to generate value and improve services for patients, providers, and business users. Provides leadership and guidance to product owners and product teams within the portfolio, and ensures that priority products and projects are effectively resourced and delivered. Empowers and enables product owners to deliver regional solutions using modern, leading product management practices, which includes innovating new products (or enabling innovation) in collaboration with senior clinical and business leaders across the sector.
- Works collaboratively with the Ministry of Health and regional HA teams to advance initiatives of broad sector-wide importance; builds and manages stakeholder networks and systems; collaborates with the executive-level and senior leader colleagues within PHSA on an ongoing basis to ensure the synergies and intersections are managed and prioritized. Collaborates with other PHSA teams, including across the PDHIS portfolio, as well as privacy, risk management, finance, and others as appropriate.
- Acts on behalf of the EVP Digital Health & Information Services as assigned by the EVP as the principal IT officer on executive decisions and executive level committees for projects, programs, products, and other matters that are province-wide in scale and scope.
- Negotiates and facilitates consensus on behalf of the CEOs and CIOs of the health authorities, as well as the Ministry of Health, for projects and products that are province-wide in scale and scope. Facilitates communications across IT groups, user and customer communities.
