The Production & Publishing Student Assistant is a project-based role providing support in making the Canadian Nuclear Society (CNS) Proceedings Collection electronically available.

**Areas of Responsibility and Typical Duties**:

- Creating metadata in compliance with local policies and project requirements
- Validating existing metadata by checking for missing or invalid information
- Extracting segments of PDF documents
- Locating and digitizing selected print documents
- Performing and correcting optical character recognition (OCR) on scanned documents
- Other duties as required

Position Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled for the Fall 2024 semester at the University of Regina
- Attention to detail, including ability to identify and correct errors and inconsistencies
- Demonstrated ability to adhere to detailed guidelines and procedures
- Demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other broadly used computer software
- Ability and willingness to learn new software
- Ability to work independently, including effective time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands Pay Grade CUPE Phase 1 Salary Range $15.98 - $19.19 per hour Status Term Work Hours

Monday to Friday as student class schedule allows
