**About the Role**:
The Manager, Events & Partnerships is accountable for the department’s overall management of all Brock Sports events and both internal and external partnerships. This includes varsity and special event program implementation, managing operational logistics of all events, sport compliance, oversight of ticket sales and event revenues, event promotions and communications, staffing, coordination and servicing of outreach and partnerships, finance, administration, and risk management.
The position will support Brock Sports in its endeavour to succeed to provincial and national prominence. Critical responsibilities include the planning, delivery and execution of events, as well as oversight of sports information/event compliance. The Manager, Events & Partnerships will personify the values of Brock Sports & Recreation and Brock University.
**The Manager, Events & Partnerships will**:
- Develop and executes a strategical plan that builds and promotes both student-facing and community outreach events, ensure events align with the plan and manage the metrics and benchmark targets;
- Manage the implementation of events and partnerships, under the auspices of OUA/USPORTS and/or Provincial Sports Organization PSO/ National Sports Organization NSO sport policies, procedures and guidelines;
- Leads a communication team that includes sport information, marketing content and design and ensures Brock Sports branding is compliant to the department’s branding guide and Brock University policies;
- Lead and oversee the implementation and execution of event tactical plans to ensure ticket sales targeted revenues and/or engagement from key partners are met;
- Manage and oversee the coordination of event staff, operational logistics, marketing and communications materials, and risk management plans;
- Ensure teams operate in compliance to the policies and regulations of Brock Sports, USPORTS, OUA, Brock University and other governing bodies;
- Ensure Brock Sports branding is compliant to the department’s branding guide and Brock University policies;
- Provide mentorship, guidance and direction to staff, including student-athletes;
- Guide employees and other partners in understanding and complying with Brock Sports, and Brock University policies, procedures and guidelines;
- Support the development, execution and monitoring of assigned budgets;
- Manage revenue and report on sales metrics as well as attendance.
**Key Skills and Experience**:
- An undergraduate degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience;
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in an area such as retail, event planning, or customer service;
- A valid G class driver’s license and an acceptable driver's abstract;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage and oversee multiple aspects of an event;
- Strong computer competency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Stats Software packages used by OUA/USPORTS;
- Understanding of online, and social media, with the ability to stay current on social media trends;
- Strong understanding promotional communication best practices;
- Ability to generate various reports for metric and financial reporting purposes;
- Knowledge of the University environment, rules, regulations, processes, administration, USPORTS and OUA regulations and related practices;
- Knowledge of University sports and related events;
- Effective relationship management skill with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
**Preferred or Asset Skills**:
- First Aid & CPR certification;
- WHIMIS certification;
- Knowledge of Brock’s facilities, services, contracts, and policies around use of space;
- Knowledge of intercollegiate statistical and website software (Ex Sidearm);
- Previous management and supervision experience; and
- Experience in post-secondary environment.
**Salary and Total Rewards**:
- Job Grade M, Salary Scale ($68,600-$117,600);
- Target Hiring Range: $68,600-$75,000 ;
- This position includes full comprehensive benefits including tuition waiver.
