The Program Account Specialist is charged with providing service and support services to Print & Marketing strategic program accounts & supporting new hire Business Development Managers with program account development. Under the direction of the Sales Support Team Supervisor, the Specialist will serve as the primary contact for program customers and is responsible for making judgments & discretionary decisions that affect the success of the customer relationship and will communicate them to the customer and sales reps.

**Specifically, you will**:

- Primary contact for assigned strategic customer accounts; manages day to day transactions for customer
- Partners closely with AM’s/BDM’s to retain & grow program account relationships
- Provides guidance & supports new hire sales reps in the development of program account opportunities. This includes participating in customer meetings and developing pricing & services strategies for the client.
- Collaborates with reps & administers project requests from multiple contacts for digital & specialty print requirements
- Works with vendor partners to estimate associated costs (production processes, material costs, labour costs, distribution costs, estimating formulas) for special order requests outside of the program services agreement
- Verify accuracy of order request, including all relevant specifications
- Recommend efficient production and/or material alternatives if required
- Determine resource capabilities & specific production time to produce job(s)
- Ensure quotations match original order specifications & manage change requests
- Responds to client needs in a thorough & timely manner
- Manages ePrint Catalogue requirements with assigned accounts, working with Online Program account coordinator to implement updates/changes
- Convert quotations to orders and negotiate final details with suppliers
- Coordinate all preflight activities (including proofing) and/or design requirements (as required)
- Send payment instructions to customers and validate accurate customer payment followed by invoicing
- Ensure customer orders stay on track and arrive to customer’s destination when promised
- Have basic pre-flight file and set-up skills and leverage Creative Coordinator for complex requirements
- Utilizes request tracker to support measurement of efficiency and capacity
- Must be available to support PST 8-4 or 11-7 in EST

**Some of what you need**

**Education**:

- college or technical school diploma in graphic arts or related discipline or equivalent experience.

**Experience**:

- 3 years’ experience in the graphic communication & printing industry
- Understands steps involved in the printing process
- Strong understanding of medium and complex print specifications and ability to assess the integrity of quotations from vendors
- prior industry experience with knowledge of margins within multiple product categories

**Knowledge**:

- Reading-lengthy & complex texts to extract & interpret information
- Writing-technical & tailored texts
- Mathematical Skills-completes basic & complex mathematical calculations
- Communication-Listens & understands information, presents information in a clear manner, uses standard trade terms and work-related terminology
- Plans & organizes own activities
- Decision Making-makes decisions using explicit guidelines and procedures
- Problem Solving-identifies & solves basic problems using readily available information
- Computer literacy-medium/high proficiency
- Basic skills with design software (Adobe Creative Suite)
- Basic colour theory, typography print production and principles of file management and design.
- Good use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Being bilingual is an asset-Communication may be required with Staples head office associates or customers who reside outside of Quebec.
