**POSITION TITLE: Manager, Logistics**

**REPORTING TO**:Senior Project Manager, Integrated Operations Planning

**INTERACTIONS**:All internal functional departments, volunteers, temporary staff during games time, other external parties related to deliveries and fleet management

**PLANNED CONTRACT TERM**:February 1, 2023 - August 31, 2023 (full time work)

**LOCATION**: In person at the WPFG 2023 Head Office located at 457 Main St. in Winnipeg, MB. Warehouse location TBD.

**SALARY & BENEFITS**:Annual salary of $50,000-$60,000Cdn, monthly cell phone and benefits allowance, parking provided, vacation entitlement, paid sick time.

**OVERVIEW**:
The 2023 World Police & Fire Games Host Organizing Committee is looking to fill the full time, term position of a Manager, Logistics.

In less than one year, thousands of the world’s best and brightest Police, Firefighters and Law Enforcement professionals will set their sights on Winnipeg as we host the 2023 World Police & Fire Games. More than 8,500 athletes from across the globe, 150 media, hundreds of VIPs, 500 officials and thousands of visitors will join us for the 10-day event. Featuring 61 sports and numerous cultural events and festivals, the 2023 World Police and Fire Games will be the largest event in Manitoba’s history.

**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:
The Manager, Logistics provides planning, development, coordination, integration, and operations support for the Materials Management Area. This position will interact with all 2023 World Police and Fire Games functional departments to plan, coordinate and support the movement of key event resources to venues across Winnipeg.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**GENERAL**
- Represent the 2023 World Police & Fire Games in a positive, respectful and enthusiastic manner.
- Work within a functional team to accomplish the approved targets and goals within the expected timelines.
- Offer ideas that will improve the efficient and effective delivery of the games and will focus on optimizing the athlete experience.
- Recommend resources needed to accomplish tasks and reach the targets/goals.
- Uphold a high moral character and prudent fiscal management, understanding the majority of funding to host this event is provided by the Public Sector including the Provincial, Federal, and municipal governments.
- Contribute information for final reports for the respective functions following the Games.
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Senior Project Manager, relevant to the furtherance of the goals and objectives of the Games and the position.

**OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT**
- Oversight of all warehouse operations when activated, including day-to-day and Games time operations.
- Determine and maintain the layout and flow of warehouse operations.
- Ensure warehouse security and health and safety measures are implemented throughout operations.

**LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT**
- Develop master delivery schedules and supporting external inventory/asset tools to track the movement of goods.
- Develop and lead the process of inbound and outbound goods to and from the warehouse.
- Manage the procurement process to purchase Games supplies for Games time delivery.
- Manage team schedules, conflict resolution, training and empowerment.

**EVENT DELIVERY**
- Coordination with warehouse staff and logistics volunteers during Games time.
- Dispatch management of logistics fleet.
- Distribution of all event goods to venues across the city of Winnipeg.
- Support the disposal management process post-Games.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post secondary training or certification in event management, warehouse operations or supply chain management is preferred. An undergraduate degree or diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or another related field is an asset.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience related to event logistics, materials management, warehouse operations, and/or logistics planning. A combined equivalent of education and experience may be considered.
- Outstanding planning, organizing and coordination skills.
- Friendly, approachable manner and willingness to contribute and ask questions.
- Excellent verbal, written, electronic and related communication skills and capacities.
- Ability to thrive in a complex environment, involving a multitude of simultaneous and concurrent tasks, operations and requests.
- Ability to work in a team and perform specific tasks independently.
- Willingness to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Previous Games or related experience would be an asset.
- Counterbalance forklift training and experience would be an asset.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Formal office hours are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; however, flexibility will be required (and given appropriately). This may include various evening/weekend committee work, varying workload/deadlines, Games time requirements, etc.
