Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Employee Administrator to join our team. This position will provide administrative support to all managers and supervisors within the BC Materials organization regarding hourly employee recruitment process and personnel matters

**What You’ll Get to Do**:

- Create job requisitions in the corporate system, scheduling interviews, initiating, and following through on pre-employment processes, ensuring completion of new hire paperwork and onboarding process.
- Helps employees with HMAccess self-service functions.
- Assist in the compliance and maintenance of hourly employee files and hourly transactional matters.
- Serves as a backup for payroll and Kronos (time entry system) as needed.
- Coordinates with site/department supervision regarding training needs and audit activities.
- Creates and maintains Driver Qualification files, tracks driver recertification status to ensure meeting DOT requirements.
- Partner appropriately with the Regional BC Materials Human Resources team and Corporate Services regarding various employees matters (i.e., leave of absences, benefits, employee relations, recruiting, payroll, etc.).
- Distributes corporate, regional, and local announcements, memo. Manages bulletin board postings in the offices.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as requested.

**Who we are looking for**:

- High School Diploma is required, and post-secondary education is an asset.
- 3+ years of admin assistant experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess a high level of confidentially and professionalism working with HR, management, and employees.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills, ability to multi-task.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
- Experience supporting HR/Payroll an asset.
- Ability to learn new technology and systems quickly.
- Working knowledge of office equipment such as printers and fax machines.

**Work Environment**:

- Role operates primarily a professional office environment, but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels
