We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Night Auditor. If you are a friendly, motivated individual who has a passion for customer service and contributing to a positive work environment, we would like to hear from you. The Night Auditor will be the face of the hotel and will be required to provide guests with exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone. You are the ambassador of the hotel during a guest’s stay which means offering a warm welcome when they arrive, providing information about the local area, informing guests of hotel amenities and any important details they will need throughout their stay. You will assist guests by answering any inquiries and requests they may have which includes resolving issues and recording complaints.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Run audit reports and journals from Property Management System.
- Ensure that all transactions and payments are posted and entered accurately.
- Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly and reset the system for next day operations.
- Demonstrate a positive and proactive attitude and be committed to providing exceptional guest care through use of initiative and empowered decision making.
- Answer phones and accurately enter reservations on Property Management System. - Ensure that guest arrival/departure is carried out in a friendly and professional manner with all cash and credit transactions being handled in accordance with company policy.
- Review guest arrivals on Property Management System to ensure all reservations match with booking engines, and that rates, room types and dates are entered correctly.
- Ensure the security of cash, keys, and be responsible for the safety and security of the building being aware of procedures to follow in the event of emergency or disruptive situations to maintain personal safety and guest safety as required.
- Accurately registers all guests arriving at the hotel in compliance with hotel credit and identification policy.
- Performs credit card verifications; when declined contacts guest for alternative payment arrangements. - Room block all VIP's, group and special requests..
- Operates the front office computer system, posts all guests charges and payments, incurred during the shift and balance shift totals by department to backup documents.
- Ensures all guest registration cards and credit cards are correctly completed and filed by room number.
- Checks all credit cards using point-of-sale authorization terminals and cancellation bulletins and obtains authorization for those accounts which have exceeded house floor limits.
- Maintains cashier float as supplied, provides currency exchange for guests and efficiently prepares cash deposit.
- Reports overages and shortages on a daily basis. Responsible to present and/or return float intact upon request.
- Communicates with housekeeping in order to deal with early check-ins, late check-outs, day rooms, unexpected departures, stayovers and room changes.
- Issues and controls safety deposit boxes to guests in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Assists with room reservations and switchboard operation when necessary.
- Works to attain the best occupancy and average daily rate possible, assessing the guests and attempting to upsell.
- Negotiates rates within parameters set by the FOM.
- Reports to supervisors any guest complaints or security issues.
- Records and enters all wake-up calls and ensures they are given at the correct time to the correct room.
- Reports any equipment malfunction, emergency situations or suspicious persons to the supervisor.
- Handle all guests inquiry or complaints in an efficiently and reports any guest complaints to supervisor immediately if he/she cannot handle it personally.
- Ensures guest satisfaction.
