Animal Rescue Center Supervisor

**PLEASE NOTE* **This job is located in Koh Lanta, Thailand with the requirement to relocate. Will will assist with relocation and visas on a case by case basis.
**Company Description**
LAW, a non-profit animal rescue charity in southern Thailand, was founded in 2005. It’s mission is to end the pain and suffering of the homeless, injured, and abused animals in Krabi and Trang Provinces. To date we have sterilized and treated over 15,000 animals and continue to grow our footprint to help more animals each year. We provide sterilisations, vaccinations, medical treatments, and support adoptions of our rescue animals around the world.
**Job Duties**
**Supervision of Volunteers**
- The allocation and conduct of work within the kennels/cattery including supervision and handson practical training of volunteers
- Alerts the Animal Care Manager to any volunteer performance concerns, conflicts, or feedback
- Ensures all health and safety measures and procedures are observed and adhered to within the centre, reporting any accidents or incidents promptly and correctly in accordance with the Centre procedures
**Canine and Feline Care & Handling**
- Ensures animals receive adequate food, water, enrichment and exercise
- On-going assessment, in conjunction with other staff, of animals within the centre with respect to their health, welfare, general condition and suitability for rehoming.
- Drawing to the attention of centre veterinarians any animals not considered to be fully healthy or considered to require veterinary attention
- Administers treatments and medications in the prescribed quantity at the specified intervals
- Co-operates with centre veterinarian instructions
- Provides training in animal handling to volunteers and visitors, and ensures all animals are handled in a safe, compassionate, and positive manner
- Monitors the behavioural welfare of the animals under LAW’s care, and notifies the Animal Care Manager of any changes.
- Assists with animal integrations
- Performs and monitors animal training, handling, exercise and socialisation, keeping the Animal Care Manager fully informed of any developments
**Cleaning and Sanitation**
- Ensures sanitation and disease control protocols are adhered to Performs and monitors daily cleaning and sanitation of animal housing and walkways
- Ensures the centre and surroundings are kept in a clean, tidy and presentable standard to the public, and secure at all times General
- Reports any maintenance issues to Animal Care Manager Represents LAW in a professional and courteous manner at all times
- Keeps the Animal Care Manager fully informed of any centre operations and concerns
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Previous animal care and dog behavior experience Team leadership experience Good communication skills
- Good English speaking Good level of physical fitness and strength
- Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Lanta Animal Welfare
**Desirable Qualities**
- A good understanding of Thai culture
- Previous experience working in Asia
**Benefits**
- Working hours: 8 hour shifts, alternating 5/6 working days per week.
- Flexibility is required.
- Stipend: starting at 12,000 THB per month, probation is 3 months then goes up to 15,000 THB per month (Please take in consideration that living costs here in Thailand is 5 times less than in the western world and also no tax will be deducted)
