The Emergency Management Consultant (EMC) is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing administration of the emergency preparedness capability of LHSC. The EMC supports the LHSC vision through expertise in disaster response planning, training and disaster risk mitigation. The EMC will provide expertise on emergency response code training, development, review and maintenance of the Emergency Management response plan for all types of disasters that may impact the hospital or the community of LHSC services. This role is a resource for staff at all levels in supporting the development of policies and procedures based on relevant legislation.

Rate of Pay: $40.27 per hour - $50.34 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per week

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in Emergency Management, Health Studies, Public Health or acceptable to the hospital
- Incident Management System (IMS) 100 or higher; or equivalent required
- Minimum three (3) years recent related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of emergency management standards and best practices and industry regulations (i.e Fire Code, Ontario Hospitals Act, Etc.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to conceptualize and analyze problems
- Project management experience with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects effectively
- Experience with training program development
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
