Kamatsiarniq & Inuit Representative Program Coordinator
Full Time, Term end date March 31, 2026.
It is the mission of Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) to broadly provide Inuit-specific programs that contribute to the health and wellbeing of Inuit and to encourage and support similar programs for Inuit across the country. TI has over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of effective, client-centered services. By incorporating the principles of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ), TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population.
Reporting to the Manager of Kamatsiarniq Services, the Kamatsiarniq & Inuit Representative Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation and operations of the province-wide Kamatsiarniq and Inuit Representative Program that will ensure all Inuit children, youth and families in contact with child protection agencies in Ontario have access to Inuit-specific services and supports.
**Responsibilities**:
- Manage a centralized intake, assessment and referral process.
- Receive and respond to CYFSA notifications and participate in case consultations with children’s aid societies, placement agencies and other service providers to ensure agency interactions and interventions are done in a culturally sensitive and appropriate way.
- Conduct intake and initial assessment, assign files to the appropriate representatives at TI and other organizations that are part of the Kamatsiarniq Program network, make program referrals as appropriate, and monitor outcomes.
- Maintain accurate client records on TI’s case management system.
- Advocate for families, children and youth and assist them in exercising their rights and overcoming barriers to ensure they receive the programs and services they need.
- Manage a small case load of families as a Kamatsiarniq Representative.
- Identify and coordinate the delivery of training and learning opportunities for staff from organizations participating in the provincial Kamatsiarniq Program network.
- Coordinate meetings.
- Coordinate meetings with the Kamatsiarniq advisory counsel.
- Assist in the development of protocol and partnership agreements, MOUs.
- Assist in the further development of Kamatsiarniq and Inuit Representative Program operational policies and procedures.
- Participate in program design and program planning; assist in the implementation and delivery of province-wide initiatives.
**Qualifications**:
Driver’s licence with a clean record and own vehicle is required. Fluent in English, written and oral is required, ability to speak Inuktitut is a definite asset. Ability to travel within the city and out of town if required.
Completion of Community College in fields related to social work and social services is required. Secondary School or Undergraduate Degree in fields related to social work and social services is preferred.
Five plus years previous experience delivering direct services in social services or community service organizations is required. Three plus year experience in Intake and assessment, service planning, service coordination, advocacy and referral process is required. One plus year previous experience working with Inuit community and/or Indigenous organizations is preferred.

- Salary is $74,200 annually
