Alliston Food Bank mission is to provide nutritional food assistance to individuals and families encountering difficult financial times. We care and respect the dignity of our clients and want to ensure our neighbours have access to food.

**Job Purpose**:
Permanent - Part time, 25 hours per week at $23.50 per hour, flexible schedule with occasional evenings or weekends required. This role will be under the direction of the Executive Director.

**Responsibilities**:
**Administration**
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Alliston Food Bank and act as a point of contact and liaison between the general public, staff, and volunteers.
- Assist the ED, staff and volunteers in the preparation of internal and external communications, reports, and newsletters.
- Order name badges/uniforms and office supplies.
- Assist all staff and volunteers with any administrative needs.
- Assist with receiving food and monetary donations.
- Record and track statistical information as required.
- Attend internal meetings as required; take and distribute meeting minutes.
- Maintain an effective system for filing and securely maintaining records.
- Assist with Social Media Plan to build and maintain social media engagement.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Volunteer Coordinating**
- Manage all volunteer recruitment, training, tracking, scheduling, recognition, and communications.
- Ensure that volunteers have an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check and have completed Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training.
- Assist with volunteer appreciation events and with planning other fundraising events.
- Manage shift scheduling to ensure adequate volunteer coverage for all shifts.
- Create and update departmental volunteer handbooks.
- Assist the ED in the recruitment and oversight of co-op student(s).

**Experience & Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2-5 years administrative support, office and/or project management, non-profit environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Experience recruiting, training, supervising and scheduling volunteers is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to adapt to new technologies and circumstances.
- Desired qualities include empathy, flexibility, positivity, good interpersonal skills and a sense of humour.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and be non-judgemental.

**Education**
- Relevant post-secondary training or equivalent experience

**General Requirements**
- Valid G driver’s license required
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Note: Some lifting may be required
