**Job Summary**:
The banquet manager leads the banquet team with knowledge of F&B standards and service excellence. The banquet manager ensures recruitment and training of the team is carried out to meet the required standards and to create a culture of excellence.

**Typical shift schedule**:
Evenings and weekends with some shifts ending late into the night and starting early in the morning.

**Job Duties**:

- Oversee the daily operation of the Banquet Department
- Coordinate the training of staff in joint effort with the Banquet Captain and Supervisor
- Weekly scheduling of the banquet department, ensuring staffing levels are in place to meet client needs
- Communicate with Sales and Kitchen departments to ensure client needs are met
- Tracking inventory and ordering supplies such as pens, note pads, duct tape
- Timely execution of payroll administration
- Conduct annual Performance Evaluations
- Review CI daily to stay informed on what is upcoming in the short term, and plan for long term
- Build relationships with clients, with special attention to repeat business clientele
- Review EO’s daily for potential issues
- Attend morning EO meetings daily, and evening meetings following large events
- Walk through meeting rooms, checking any AV that is out to ensure it is in working order, setting up any LCD projectors required
- Ensure rooms are watered and breaks go out on time
- Meet all clients to review needs; provide AV operation instructions, breaks and lunch timing, special requests, and last-minute additions, making sure the client is satisfied and all changes are recorded
- Oversee lunch service, ensuring all lunches are on time and all alternate meals are served
- Review EOs for evening and next day with evening staff to see if there are any concerns
- Complete End of Day reports
- Assist with catering events as required

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in event management, catering and/or banquets
- Previous managerial experience required
- Hospitality diploma or degree is considered an asset
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Reliable and punctual - access to reliable transportation preferable
- Motivated, high performance team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Multiple languages spoken considered an asset
