We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join the Merchandising Team, supporting Tokyo Smoke stores with weekly ordering, focused on accessories. This position will have the direct responsibility for meeting the customer demands on product availability while optimizing our inventory investment in a new and rapidly evolving industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Weekly Replenishment analysis to inform weekly order for Tokyo Smoke stores
- Planning inventory needs based on sales trends and inventory levels, as well as industry and partner insights on top sellers, new products to market and upcoming promotional events
- Maintain internal communication between Store Management, Field leadership, Finance, Marketing and Operations leadership on purchasing strategies and budget constraints.
- Optimize operating inventory and weeks on hand for stores in the Tokyo Smoke network.
- Managing the core product assortment to ensure breadth and depth across all formats and intents, as well as focusing on top selling SKUs, identified by store sales history and industry insights
- Conduct regular SKU performance analysis and adjust assortment accordingly
- Managing the organization and execution of discontinued items
- Liaison with external partners to keep up to date with product knowledge, product offerings, pricing updates and additional product insights
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to streamline ordering across all stores.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of data records as they relate to the organization and its customers
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- 2 years of experience in purchasing, preferred
- Post-secondary education with a focus on retail and/or business management
- Experience in the cannabis industry an asset
- Fine attention to detail, with an analytical mindset
- Influential and collaborative communicator with strong relationship building skills with an ability to influence others without direct authority
- Experience with excel, spreadsheets and data management
- Keeps pulse on customers and trends in the cannabis industry, as well as product innovation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service excellence, with a strong attention to detail and follow up is required
- Strong work ethic and a positive team attitude
- Ability to establish priorities and manage workload effectively and efficiently
- Self-starter and able to work with mínimal supervision and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision making ability.
