Purchasing Specialist

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company that is looking for a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our Team in our Toronto office. This position will be part of Reflex Finance team.
As Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing some of our purchasing tasks, duties, and product streams. Responsibilities include developing/enhancing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, creating efficiencies and processing to meet growing demands, and overseeing purchasing activities/product lines, and daily tasks directly assigned to you.
To be successful as a Purchasing Specialist you should be able to manage and optimize purchasing activities and processes, ensure order requests are processed and fulfilled on time and within the best cost/value to the company and its clients.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Ability to manage and deliver on all aspects of purchasing process from order to fulfillment.
- Identify, lead, and oversee sourcing for IT projects consisting of software, hardware and maintenance.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish orders that best meet the requestors needs.
- Ensure relevant stakeholders are involved in IT procurement decision process to meet order requirements.
- Research for the best solutions/products as per the requestor needs and according to Reflex’s policies and guidelines.
- Prepare cost estimates, Quotes, POs, and manage budgets.
- Track shipments and communicate info to clients and internal teams as required.
- Plan and negotiate with vendors as required
- Provide optimum terms and conditions, estimates, and resolve execution barriers on time.
- Develop and maintain professional business relations with key external and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the success of the procurement team. Help to ensure IT procurement business goals and objectives are accomplished.
- Perform activities steadily maintaining objective and transparent approach every time.
- Develop and maintain supplier base with input from internal procurement business partners.
- Assist in improving purchasing processes, systems, and procedures.
- Frequently report status, and progress to management.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- 3+ years’ previous experience managing purchasing activities across the end-to-end IT procurement lifecycle (Refurbished /New equipment).
- A university or college degree/diploma.
- Experience leveraging internal and external partnerships to drive enhanced value for the business.
- Outstanding relationship building, client centricity, and influential skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Promptly being available in responding to clients’ inquiries with a sense of urgency and putting clients first.
- Strong negotiating, persuading, and influencing skills. Great verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive engagement and ensure their input and support using problem-solving, persuasion, and proactive communication skills.
- Keeps up to date on new industry trends and best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills
- Ability to work with people (clients and internal staff) in a professional manner.
- Ability to support customers in a tactful and effective manner.
- Show understanding and relate to customers.
- Self-motivated mindset to drive results
- Open minded, team player, with a willingness to learn and improve.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
