Compound Studio is a brand house dedicated to creating and building lasting direct-to-consumer accessory labels that are marked by premium quality, impactful design and competitive prices. Compound operates three brands — Vitaly, Clocks And Colours and Etah Love — under one roof with a tight-knit team of 30 employees.
The Opportunity
Compound Studio is looking for a talented and experienced HR professional to join our ever growing team in a full time role. The Human Resources Specialist at Compound Studio supports company operations by maintaining office and employee systems. They will be responsible for administrative tasks and supporting human resources administrative duties which include coordinating recruitment efforts, arranging interviews for potential employees, maintaining employee records, managing employee leaves, and conducting new hire orientations. They will also act as a liaison between employees and upper management relaying information to upper management regarding employee concerns/questions and supporting all hiring managers with their recruitment efforts by providing all the necessary paperwork needed to onboard new employees.
Duties/ Responsibilities
Oversee New Hire Process
- Place job ads internally and externally on job boards
- Set up interviews
- Integrate new employees into the company
- Send offer letters
- Explain and distribute company policies with all new hires
- Maintain file keeping for all new hires
- Send all new hire paperwork to payroll/accounting department
- Conduct new hire orientations
Health and Safety
- Ensure First Aid Kit is stocked
- Ensure safety of the workplace and out of country suppliers with third party auditors
Employee Relations
- Assist with the development of HR policies, partners with management to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs and laws
- Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship
- Advises managers about the steps in the progressive discipline system
- Manage time off - vacation, sick leave, lieu days
- Implement social compliance audits for supplier factories twice a year
- Onboard employees to Sun Life benefits portal by distributing all necessary paperwork
- Assist accounting with biweekly payroll
- Distributes quarterly reviews to all staff and managers
- Reviews anonymous suggestion box and frequently checks in with employees
- Works with Junior Art Director to put together birthday card graphics each month for employee birthdays
- Manages employee 5 year anniversary
- Works with Warehouse Manager for employee rewards
- Work on projects as assigned by the CEO, such as Sample Sales, reno tasks, HR reporting etc.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organization Development
- 2-3 years of professional Human Resources Coordinator experience or HR Generalist
- Demonstrate attention to appropriate level of detail and can identify variances to expected outcomes, opportunities for improvement and ensures that quality control standards are met
- Understand web-based recruiting tools and ability to function within online job posting boards
- Ability to be flexible and confident, as well as being able to work independently.

**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
