SUMMARY

The Roll Tender is primarily responsible for assisting in the production of all assigned client jobs using the highest standards of quality and efficiency as established by Dollco's procedures. The Roll Tender is responsible for supporting the 1st and 2nd Press Operators in operating machinery and equipment. This position is a transitional step for gaining experience to become a 2nd Press Operator.

SHIFT SCHEDULE: 12-hour, rotating shifts;
- Monday to Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm- Sunday to Tuesday from 6 pm - 6 am- Thursday to Sunday from 6 am - 6 pm- Wednesday to Friday from 6 pm - 6 am

AS A ROLL TENDER, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:

- Review job dockets and ensure all instructions are met prior to runs- Ensure that ink and fountain solution supplies are well maintained, and that paper rolls have been properly prepared and hung to maintain continuous press operation- Perform all set up requirements, as instructed by the Press Operator(s) including installing plates, loading proper stock, verifying web leads, and assisting in the set up of all ancillary equipment- Monitor the job at regular intervals until completion to assure the highest level of quality control- Complete required documents for cost and efficiency purposes- Handle any required paperwork, such as quality checks and assurance tests as required- Ensure that the finished product is transferred efficiently and on a timely basis to the next station- Report to the Press Operator on any equipment deficiencies, defects, or hazards on site- Attend pressroom meetings while always following safety and quality standards

YOU CAN EXCEL AS A ROLL TENDER IF YOU HAVE:
- A minimum education completion of High School Diploma or equivalent experience- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Roll Tender or Web Press Stacker- Experience in a commercial printing facility is a definite asset- Experience with Heat-set Web Offset ancillary equipment- A strong attention to detail- The ability to work as a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills- Good problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills- The ability to lift and move heavy items- Manual dexterity to operate, control, and adjust press equipment
