**Position Description**
The Engagement Officer will report to the Manager, Project Management and will work closely with project team members, student staff, and collaborating partner organizations and institutions. This position is for an organized, efficient, and communicative outreach officer to support in the development and delivery of a collaborative project addressing the rise of gender ideologies in Canadian post
- secondary institutions. This project, in collaboration with partner organizations and post-secondary institutions, seeks to create and implement tools and resources to combat anti-trans hate and will include two virtual events as well as a collaborative working group.
The Engagement Officer will be primarily responsible for outreach and partnership development, planning two virtual events, supporting the working group’s meaningful participation, collaborating in the development of tools and resources, and supporting in the implementation of said tools at partnering post-secondary institutions.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- 50% Collaborate with project team and student staff to organize project events and complete project activities, including two virtual events and the development of tools and resources to combat anti-trans hate on post
- secondary campuses; support student staff and the implementation of project resources and tools on their campus.
- 20% Convene and participate in regular project meetings with partners and project staff during all project phases (planning to implementation.)
- 5% Participate and contribute to all-staff and departmental learning opportunities and events.
- Strong written and oral communications.
**Qualifications**
**Education and Experience**:
An equivalent combination of education, experience and/or lived experience will be considered.
- University degree in a relevant field (e.g., social sciences and humanities, gender studies, sociology, psychology.
- Demonstrated experience with project or program development and implementation.
- Experience with developing or implementing online projects or programs is an asset.
- Project Management education and/or certification is a strong asset.
**Knowledge, Abilities and Skills**:
Knowledge of equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization (EDID) principles, and a strong understanding of anti-racism and anti-oppression framework.
- A strong understanding of, and familiarity with, 2SLGBTQI communities.
- Bilingual in English and French required.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledge of equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization (EDID) principles.
- A strong understanding of the social, structural, and political issues facing 2SLGBTQI people.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to set priorities, work independently, and perform well under pressure.
