**Job Overview**:
We’re looking for a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Junior Social Media Coordinator. This entry-level position is perfect for someone aspiring to develop their skills in content creation and social media management. You will support the social media manager in creating and executing multi-channel campaigns, and in growing a thriving online community.
**Other job details**:
- This is a remote, temporary role supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program. You can live anywhere in Canada, but will be required to check Slack and other communication channels during regular business hours (9-5 Pacific) Monday to Friday.
- This position entails 35 hours of work per week for 8 weeks. The job begins in early June and concludes in late August.
- Applicants are required to have their own personal computer, while all required online software will be supplied by the company as needed.
- Gluu is an English speaking office.
**Responsibilities**:
Content Creation & Curation
- Follow brand guidelines to create engaging content, including graphics, videos, and copy for different social media platforms.
- Curate high-quality content from reputable sources.
- Build and manage a comprehensive content library with in-house created materials and sourced content.
Scheduling and Organization
- Collaborate with the social media manager to brainstorm and execute creative social campaigns.
- Leverage project management tools such as Airtable to help organize and schedule posts across different social media platforms.
Community Management
- Manage and help grow a community in our Slack community workspace, fostering a positive and supportive online environment.
- Brainstorm and create engaging content and activities for our Slack community to keep users engaged.
Communication and Collaboration
- Maintain open communication with the social media manager and other team members to align content creation and social media campaigns with overall business goal.
- Use communication tools such as Slack to coordinate and share updates with the team.
Metrics Analysis
- Gather metrics to gain insights for campaign optimization.
- Research industry trends to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
**Qualifications**:
- Already have or are working towards a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism OR equivalent work experience. Don’t have these credentials? Convince us you are the right person for the job.
- Strong knowledge of graphic design tools, particularly Canva, for creating graphic content.
- Strong layout and typographic skills, and an understanding of how copy and visuals complement each other on social media.
- Ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging written content.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Slack.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage tasks with mínimal supervision, ensuring timely delivery and providing support when necessary.
- Video editing skills and ability to create a cohesive and engaging narrative through video is an asset.
- Willingness to learn new software tools quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, communicate openly, and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

**Hours & Schedule**:
Like some of the best companies, Gluu has a virtual work environment. That means you are free to operate on your own time but are expected to meet deadlines, join virtual team meetings during regular office hours (Pacific), communicate effectively, and produce quality work. You will be expected to check Slack and other communication channels during regular business hours (9-5 Pacific) Monday to Friday.
