**Your opportunity**:
Under the direction of the Manager, Operations and Project Management, and the Senior Leadership team, you will provide financial, operational and administrative support towards the overall mission of the Office of the Vice-Principal Research and Innovation (OVPRI). The position will play a pivotal role in designing, overseeing and managing the financial aspects of our research operations, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to budgetary and compliance guidelines. Your responsibilities will include the development and implementation of financial strategies and budgets that support the growth and success of iRISE (institutes for Resilient and Inclusive Societies and Ecosystems), the Sam Ibrahim Centre for Inclusive Excellence in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership (CIEEIL), and other OVPRI initiatives. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, able to prioritize and manage tasks and timelines, and work well in a face-paced, ambiguous, and multi-leader environment. **Your responsibilities will include**:

- Overseeing the financial management of budgets that include strategic planning, analysis and forecasting
- Forecasting and planning financial activities incorporating budgets and making recommendations on budget allocations with multiple sources of revenue and/or recoveries
- Liaising with contacts to ensure consistent administration procedures are followed
- Implementing plans and process improvements for funding activities

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Accounting or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. A Professional Accounting Designation or be in the final stages of successfully completing a Professional Accounting Designation.
- Minimum five years of related experience in financial and administrative support, preferably in a post-secondary academic environment, including experience with research finances, research reporting, and research infrastructure.
- Experience in research grant reporting for external funders
- Experience managing time and resources to prioritize tasks and ensure deliverables are ready in time
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel and other MS Office software
- Experience with AMS (FIS, RIS, HRIS) or similar information systems
- Demonstrated experience with accounting, financial and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated decision-making skills
- Familiarity interpreting the University's Guide to Financial Management or similar Guide to Financial Management
