- We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our diverse team based out of our Saskatoon office. As the Controller, you will oversee and manage the company’s accounting operations to ensure the overall financial integrity of the company is maintained. This person will have a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to help Flyer Electric achieve its goals._

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee Flyer Electric’s financial processes and systems
- Communicate financial metrics to the senior management team
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Oversee Flyer Electric’s financial processes and systems, including payroll systems
- Maintain, manage, and analyze financial statements, payroll, budgets, tax compliance issues and more
- Oversee and maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and organizational budgets and expenditures
- Keeping up to date with current laws and regulations governing all of the company’s financial activities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statement, margining, accounts receivable and accounts payable, budget to actual variance analysis, WIP report, as well as others as required by management and for the board of directors
- Timely completion and accurate reporting of all transactions
- Completion of bi-weekly payroll, including RRSP and Benefits submissions
- Coordinate and develop accurate, timely recording and reporting of individual project costing and budget control. Includes developing project cost accounts and coordinating procedures according to the schedule and project status
- Identify and manage financial risks that could impact the company’s financial stability
- Regularly monitor the inputs and outputs affecting cash inflows and outflows including monitoring bank balances and preparing cash forecasts
- Supervise the financial team who completes payroll and accounts payable, ensuring that liaising with clients is completed to ensure timely payments
- Manage the year-end close process and oversee the delivery of all supporting information for the corresponding year-end audit
- Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts and monitor on a continual basis
- Actively monitor and analyze financial results and provide analysis to management and the board of directors
- Assist with the management and tracking of inventory
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and requirements including completing all government remittances including GST, PST, source deductions and corporate tax installments
- Develop, evaluate, implement, review and streamline accounting policies, procedures, controls and methodologies to maintain and strengthen internal controls, minimizing risk exposure of the company while promoting effective and efficient workflows
- Alongside leadership, develop Key Performance Indicators and provide performance analysis reports against historical and budgeted details to inform strategic decision making
- Supervise and monitor insurance and risk management practices
- Review contracts, agreements and other legal documents, and make recommendations as required
- Maintain a professional image and a high level of service with customers and co-workers during all contact, displaying positive behaviour, attitude, and work habits

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience with work in progress and job costing
- Strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills
- Detail oriented, organized, and efficient
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and interpret data and take/recommend appropriate action
- Exhibit a track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making
- Ability and willingness to meet business-critical deadlines
- Previous experience interacting with a board of directors
- Past knowledge and experience of audit process
- Adeptness with technology
- Able to work individually, as well as leading within a team environment
- Advanced computer and technology proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Sage, Payworks, and accounting software
