**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual advocate who is fluent in both French and English languages to join our team in Project Recover within Victim Services Toronto. A Financial
Recovery Advocate will engage with human trafficking survivors in determining their illegitimate financial debt incurred during and in result of human trafficking. As a bilingual financial recovery advocate, they will engage with clients and creditors in their preferred language, ensuring clear communication and understanding of their unique situation. Direct work will include financial liaising with creditors, connecting to resources, financial goal setting and linking survivors to support services. Administrative functions include data collection, data entry and case documentation.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborate with other Project Recover colleagues and the survivors’ direct supports regarding the survivors’ financial credit
- Develop and maintain communication with community services organizations and programs within clients’ consent.
- Initial point of contact for survivors in the Project Recover process which includes the gathering of information from the survivors and their advocates via the Intake form.
- Ensure necessary forms for each survivor are completed.
- Update survivors on the status of their financial recovery file.
- Perform follow up review of survivors’ credit report 120 days after resolution of credit accounts.
- Handle all client information with utmost confidentiality and adhere to the highest ethical standards.
- Input into case management system by:

- Maintaining case notes and documentation.
- Inputting and maintaining clear and accurate call notes and data gathered through the conversations with survivors and advocates and information provided by advocates
- Assist the case analysis team, as needed, in conducting follow up with survivors and their advocates
- Field incoming contacts from victims and survivors, community members, service providers, law enforcement, government, creditors and other field practitioners.
- Participate, as requested, in internal training, onboarding of colleagues, peer-to-peer support, and feedback sessions to support organizational learning at advocacy organizations
- Facilitate webinars to interested advocacy organizations.
- Participate with Executive Director in webinars with credit organizations
- Confer with advocates regarding cases and participate in team/debrief meetings.
- Participate in priority and Indigenous community engagement events and activities
- On occasion, this position may require availability outside of established work hours.

**QUALIFICIATIONS & SKILLS**
- Must be proficient in both French and English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- In depth knowledge and understanding in areas of banking, creditor negotiation and financial advisory is a strong asset.
- Ability to work in collaborative work environments, including the ability to share responsibilities with others.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and offer guidance and assistance, sometimes in high-pressure situations, while maintaining composure, positive attitude, and sensitivity to survivors’ needs and situations
- Demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively, and asking questions when clarification is needed.

Strong personal communications skills with ability to adapt and accommodate diverse situations.

- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and practices is a significant asset
